Carroll F. King
Carroll Frank King (February 17, 1924 – January 28, 2010) was an American businessman and politician. King lived in Denham, Minnesota, Denham, Pine County, Minnesota, with his wife and family. He served in the United States Army Air Forces during World War II and a pilot and navigator. He became a first lieutenant. King graduated from University of Wisconsin–Madison in 1947 and was the manager of the Denham Cooperative Association. He served in the Minnesota House of Representatives in 1957 and 1958. King then moved to Ulster Park, New York, Ulster Park, Ulster County, New York. Denham is a city in Pine County, Minnesota, United States. The population was 37 at the 2020 census. History Denham was established in 1908 and incorporated in February 1939. Denham was named for an employee of the Soo Line Railroad. The post office began in 1909, and remained in operation until 1974. Denham had a depot on the Soo Railroad. Geography According to the United States Census Bureau, the city has a total area of , all land. Denham is in the northwest part of Pine County. County Roads 40, 46, and 52 are the main routes in the Denham area. Birch Creek is nearby. Denham is eight miles west of Sturgeon Lake; and nine miles west-northwest of Willow River. Pine County is a County (United States), county in the U.S. state of Minnesota. As of the 2020 United States census, 2020 census, the population was 28,876. Its county seat is Pine City, Minnesota, Pine City. The county was formed in 1856 and organized in 1872. Part of the Mille Lacs Indian Reservation is in Pine County. Ulster County is a county in the U.S. state of New York. It is situated along the Hudson River. As of the 2020 census, the population was 181,851. The county seat is Kingston. The county is named after the Irish province of Ulster. History Founding and formation When part of the New Netherland colony, Dutch traders first called the area of present-day Ulster County "Esopus", a name borrowed for convenience from a locality on the opposite side of the Hudson. The local Lenape indigenous people called themselves Waranawanka, but soon came to be known to the Dutch as the "Esopus Indians" because they were encountered around the settlement known as Esopus.
