Carroll County Courthouse, Eastern District
The Carroll County Courthouse, Eastern District is a historic courthouse at Public Square in the center of Berryville, one of the county seats of Carroll County, Arkansas. Built in 1881 and repeatedly enlarged, it is now a three-story brick structure with a truncated hip roof, and a pair of four-story towers at its front corners, which are topped by pyramidal roofs. The courthouse was built shortly after Berryville replaced Carrollton as the county seat, and before Eureka Springs was chosen as the county's western seat. The building now houses the Heritage Center Museum of the Carroll County Historical Society. The building was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1976. Carroll County Courthouse (Illinois)
The Carroll County Courthouse, located in Courthouse Square in Mount Carroll, is the county courthouse of Carroll County, Illinois. The courthouse, which was designed by Chicago architects Olmstead and Nicholson, was built in 1858 and has been used continuously since. During the Civil War, the courthouse also served as a barracks for the county's troops prior to their commissioning. The Lorado Taft Monument, a memorial to the county's Civil War veterans, was added to the site in 1891. According to Ripley's Believe It or Not, the monument is the only Civil War memorial with an annex, which was added to fit names which had been left off the original memorial. The Carroll County Courthouse is a historic courthouse located at 101 W. Main St. in Delphi, Carroll County, Indiana. It was designed by architect Elmer E. Dunlap and built in 1916. It is a three-story Classical Revival style rectangular building of Indiana limestone. It features a three-story projecting pavilion. The Carroll County Courthouse property has two prominent works of public art in its collection: the '' Murphy Memorial Drinking Fountain'' (1918) and the '' Soldiers and Sailors Monument'' (1888); they are considered contributing objects along with a World War II artillery gun. Carroll County Courthouse (Iowa)
The Carroll County Courthouse is located in Carroll, Iowa, United States. The current structure is the fourth courthouse to house court functions and county administration. History The first county seat in Carroll County was the village of Carrollton. The courthouse there was begun in 1858 and required two contractors to complete it as the first died before the building was completed. A second story was added to the building in 1865. The county seat was moved to the city of Carroll in 1868 and a former railroad station was rented for county use. A $4,000 courthouse was built upon the square the railroad sold the county for a dollar in 1869. It was destroyed in a fire in the spring of 1886. In the interim, county offices were moved to the Joyce Lumber Company office building and court sessions were held in a music hall. A new Victorian courthouse was completed in 1887.
