Paul Carrington (judge)
Paul Carrington (March 16, 1733 – June 23, 1818) was a Virginia planter, lawyer, judge and politician. He served in the House of Burgesses before being elected a justice of the Virginia Court of Appeals (now the Supreme Court of Virginia). He was a delegate to the Virginia Ratifying Convention in 1788, and cast his vote for ratification of the United States Constitution. Early life and education Carrington was born on March 16, 1733 at "Boston Hill" in what was then Goochland County of the Colony of Virginia, later Cumberland County. His parents were Col. George Carrington (1711–1785) and his kinswoman Johanna Mayo (1712–1785). His paternal grandparents, Dr. Paul Carrington and Henningham Codrington, had migrated from England to the Island of Barbados. His father immigrated to the Colony of Virginia in 1723. Dora Carrington
Dora de Houghton Carrington (29 March 1893 – 11 March 1932), known generally as Carrington, was an English painter and decorative artist, remembered in part for her association with members of the Bloomsbury Group, especially the writer Lytton Strachey. From her time as an art student, she was known simply by her surname as she considered ''Dora'' to be "vulgar and sentimental". She was not well known as a painter during her lifetime, as she rarely exhibited and did not sign her work. She worked for a while at the Omega Workshops, and for the Hogarth Press, designing woodcuts. Desmond Herbert Carrington (23 May 1926 – 1 February 2017) was a British broadcaster and actor whose career spanned 75 years. He was best known for his weekly show on BBC Radio 2 which aired for 35 years, from 4 October 1981 until his final broadcast on 28 October 2016. Vernon Carrington (November 1, 1936 – March 22, 2005) founded the Twelve Tribes of Israel branch of the Rastafari movement in 1968. To his many followers across Jamaica and the world he was known as the Prophet Gad. Philip Carrington (6 July 1892 – 3 October 1975) was an eminent Anglican priest and author, the seventh Bishop of Quebec and the eleventh Metropolitan of Canada. Sir William Henry Peregrine Carington (28 July 1845 – 7 October 1914) was a British soldier, courtier and Liberal politician who sat in the House of Commons from 1868 to 1883 Biography Born William Carrington, he was the second son of Robert Carrington, 2nd Baron Carrington, and his second wife the Hon. Walter C. Carrington (July 24, 1930 – August 11, 2020) was an American diplomat who served as the United States Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary to Senegal and Nigeria.
