Carriedo Station
Carriedo station is an elevated Manila Light Rail Transit (LRT) station situated on Line 1. The station is located along the district boundary of Santa Cruz and Quiapo in Manila. It is one of the five stations in the line to have its concourse area below the platform, the other four being Baclaran, Central Terminal, Balintawak, and Roosevelt. Description Carriedo is the first station north of the Pasig River. It is the tenth station for trains headed to Roosevelt and the eleventh station for trains headed to Baclaran. It is named after Carriedo Street, which crosses below it. It is also the only station on the entire line with a canopy roof with the others being fully-roofed. Like Balintawak, Central Terminal, Roosevelt and Doroteo Jose stations, commuters don't have to go down to street level to go across from one platform to another, without paying another fare (except for Doroteo Jose). Rizal Avenue
Rizal Avenue, also known as Avenida or Avenida Rizal, is one of Manila's main thoroughfares running from its Santa Cruz and Quiapo districts to the Bonifacio Monument (Monumento) Circle in Caloocan. Named after the national hero José Rizal, it is a part of Radial Road 9 (R-9). The LRT Line 1 elevated railroad is built above the street in its entire length, and several jeepneys ply the area taking passengers from Caloocan, Quezon City, and Valenzuela. Most of the street is within Santa Cruz, Manila. By the 1960s, economic activities shifted from Binondo to Makati. The avenue forms part of National Route 150 (N150) of the Philippine highway network. The Pasig River ( fil, Ilog Pasig) is a water body in the Philippines that connects Laguna de Bay to Manila Bay. Stretching for , it bisects the Philippine capital of Manila and Metro Manila, its surrounding urban area into northern and southern halves. Binondo, Manila
Binondo () is a district in Manila and is referred to as the city's Chinatown. Its influence extends beyond to the places of Quiapo, Santa Cruz, San Nicolas and Tondo. SM Quiapo (also known as SM Clearance Outlet and SM Carriedo) is the first SM Store opened in November 1972. The store is owned by Chinese-Filipino billionaire Henry Sy and currently being managed by the SM Group's foundation, SM Department Store Inc. The store has been renovated and relaunched as SM Clearance Store. History Henry Sy established shoe stores in Manila which were Plaza, Paris and Park Avenue which started with letter "P" prior to establishing the store that would be known as SM Quiapo. Plaza Lacson, also known by its old name, Plaza (de) Goiti, is a public square in Santa Cruz, Manila.
