Carrie Scott
Carrie E. A. Scott, b.1979, is an American/English curator, Gallery Director, TV presenter and art writer living in London. Early life Scott was born in Oxford, England and moved to Old Greenwich, Connecticut. She went to Greenwich High School, then attended Dickinson College in Carlisle, Pennsylvania. She did a Master's in Art History at the University of Washington in Seattle, WA. Career Scott was Director of Nicole Klagbsrun Gallery, New York, where she worked with artists such as Beth Campbell, Matthew Day Jackson, Rashid Johnson, Mika Rottenberg, Adam McEwen, and Storm Tharp. Prior to that, Scott was curator of the Hedreen Gallery at Seattle University's Lee Center for the Arts, Director of the James Harris Gallery. Curator
A curator (from la, cura, meaning "to take care") is a manager or overseer. When working with cultural organizations, a curator is typically a "collections curator" or an "exhibitions curator", and has multifaceted tasks dependent on the particular institution and its mission. Rashid Johnson
Rashid Johnson (born 1977) is an American artist who produces conceptual post-black art. Johnson first received critical attention in 2001 at the age of 24, when his work was included in '' Freestyle'' (2001) curated by Thelma Golden at the Studio Museum in Harlem. He studied at Columbia College Chicago and the School of the Art Institute of Chicago and his work has been exhibited around the world. Johnson is known for several bodies of work in different media, including photographic works; airbrush paintings on mirrored tile; his "Bruise Paintings" and "Surrender Paintings" series, . John Pawson
John Ward Pawson , (born 1949, Halifax, England) is a British architect whose work is known for its minimalist aesthetic. Architectural Registration Board (ARB) of UK asked Dezeen magazine not to refer him as architect although this was criticised by the publication. Biography Pawson was born and brought up in Halifax, Yorkshire, the youngest of five children. Coming from a wealthy family, he was schooled at Eton. After a period in the family textile business Pawson left for Japan in his mid-twenties, moving to Tokyo during the final year of his stay, where he visited the studio of Japanese architect and designer Shiro Kuramata. Nicholas David Gordon Knight OBE (born 24 November 1958) is a British fashion photographer and founder and director of SHOWstudio.com. He is an honorary professor at University of the Arts London and was awarded an honorary Ph.D. by the same university. He has produced books of his work including retrospectives ''Nicknight'' (1994) and ''Nick Knight'' (2009). In 2016, Knight's 1992 campaign photograph for fashion brand Jil Sander was sold by Phillips auction house at the record-breaking price of HKD 2,360,000. Mika Rottenberg (born 1976) is a contemporary Argentine-Israeli video artist who lives and works in New York City. Rottenberg is best known for her surreal video and installation work that often "investigates the link between the female body and production mechanisms". Matthew Day Jackson (born 1974) is an American artist whose multifaceted practice encompasses sculpture, painting, collage, photography, drawing, video, performance and installation.
