Carposinidae
Carposinidae, the "fruitworm moths", is a family of insects in the order Lepidoptera. These moths are narrower winged than Copromorphidae, with less rounded forewing tips. Males often have conspicuous patches of scales on either surface (Dugdale et al., 1999). The mouthparts are quite diagnostic, usually with prominent, upcurved "labial palps", the third segment long (especially in females), and the second segment covered in large scales. Unlike Copromorphidae, the "M2" and sometimes "M1" vein on the hindwings is absent. The relationship of Carposinidae relative to Copromorphidae needs further investigation. It is considered possible that the family is artificial, being nested within Copromorphidae (Dugdale et al., 1999). The Palearctic species have been revised by Alexey Diakonoff (1989). Distribution Carposinidae occur worldwide except the north-western Palearctic region (Dugdale et al., 1999). Behaviour Adults are greenish or greyish, with camouflage patterns, night flying an ...

Ctenarchis
''Ctenarchis'' is a genus of moths of the Carposinidae family, containing only one species, ''Ctenarchis cramboides''. This species is endemic to New Zealand. It is classified as "At Risk, Naturally Uncommon" by the Department of Conservation. Taxonomy ''C. cramboides'' was first described by John S. Dugdale in 1995 using material collected by C. J. Green and himself at Spraggs Bush in the Waitākere Ranges on 9 March 1984. The holotype specimen is held at the New Zealand Arthropod Collection. Etymology The name ''Ctenarchis'' refers to the pectinate (comblike) antenna (''kteinos'' is Greek for a comb and -"archis", a conventional carposinid suffix). Description The wingspan is 35–40 mm for males and about 50 mm for females. The forewings are creamy white, with small sparse costal and subterminal maculations (spots) in brown, and two short longitudinal streaks, one basally on the costa. The head, thorax and abdomen are creamy white and the labial palpi are dar ...

Glaphyrarcha
''Glaphyrarcha'' is a genus of moths in the family Carposinidae. It contains only one species ''Glaphyrarcha euthrepta''. This species is endemic to New Zealand. Taxonomy ''G. euthrepta'' was described by Edward Meyrick in 1938 using material collected at Arthur's Pass by Mr R. Scott. George Hudson discussed and illustrated this species in his 1939 book ''A supplement to the butterflies and moths of New Zealand''. The holotype specimen is held at the Canterbury Museum. Description ''G. euthrepta'' has a wingspan The wingspan (or just span) of a bird or an airplane is the distance from one wingtip to the other wingtip. For example, the Boeing 777–200 has a wingspan of , and a wandering albatross (''Diomedea exulans'') caught in 1965 had a wingspan of ... of about 43 mm. The head, palpi and thorax are ochreous-brown and the face is pale ochreous. The forewings are very elongate-triangular, the costa moderately arched, the apex obtuse and the termen rather obliquel ...
