Carpentras Station
Carpentras station is a railway station serving the town Carpentras, Vaucluse department, southeastern France. It is the terminus of the railway line from Sorgues to Carpentras, which was closed for passenger traffic in 1938, but reopened after renovation in 2015. Additionally, Carpentras station was on the railway line from Orange to L'Isle-sur-la-Sorgue which also lost its passenger service in 1938 and freight service in stages between 1955 and 1988. Carpentras (, formerly ; Provençal Occitan: ''Carpentràs'' in classical norm or ''Carpentras'' in Mistralian norm; la, Carpentoracte) is a commune in the Vaucluse department in the Provence-Alpes-Côte d'Azur region in southeastern France. Sorgues (; oc, Sòrgas) is a Communes of France, commune in the Vaucluse Departments of France, department in the Provence-Alpes-Côte d'Azur Regions of France, region of Southeastern France. L'Isle-sur-la-Sorgue (; oc, L'Illa de Sòrga or ) is a town and commune on the Sorgue river in Southeastern France. Politically, the commune is in the arrondissement of Avignon within the department of Vaucluse, in the région of Provence-Alpes-Côte d'Azur.
