Caroline Walker (born October 15, 1953) is a former American long-distance runner from Oregon who is recognized by the International Association of Athletics Federations as having set a world best in the marathon on February 28, 1970 with a time of 3:02:53 at the inaugural Trail's End Marathon in Seaside, Oregon. Walker's performance was made while she was a junior at Grant High School in Portland. Although the school did not have official track or cross country teams, Walker began running competitively as a freshman. She ran for the Oregon Track Club. In 1970, Walker was the Oregon high school state champion in the mile and runner-up in the 3,000 meters at the AAU national championships held at UCLA. She also won the Junior AAU Cross-Country Championship held in Portland on November 13, 1971 (15:58). Caroline Walker (born 1982) is a Scottish-born contemporary visual artist based in London. She is known for voyeuristic paintings of women working. Walker is born in Dunfermline. Education Walker obtained a bachelor's degree in painting from Glasgow School of Art. She earned her master's from Royal College of Art in London. Work Walker used to conceptualize scenes and hire models to depict it. She would take photographs and use it as a source in constructing oil paintings. In 2016, she began exploring the streets of London to find anonymous subjects in natural settings. Walker captures intimate moments of women's lives. Caroline Holme Walker
Caroline Holme Walker (June 14, 1863 – January 19, 1955) was an American composer, pianist, and teacher who transcribed bird songs into standard musical notation. She was born in St. Louis, Missouri. Walker studied with Anna Strothotte, James North, and Robert Goldbeck in St. Louis. After moving to Denver, Colorado, she studied with Linda Ostrander. She married John M. Walker in 1885, and they had a daughter (Elizabeth) before divorcing in 1911. Walker was one of the founders of the Tuesday Musical Club in Denver. She taught at the Wolcott Conservatory and maintained a private studio at Brinton Terrace, along with other musicians such as Lola Carrier Worrell. Walker published at least one article, "Bird Songs from the Musician's Point of View," in the journal Country Life in America (1907), which described how she transcribed 31 meadowlark songs into standard musical notation.
