Carolina Core FC is an American professional soccer team that is located in High Point, North Carolina. It is an independent team and currently participate in MLS Next Pro. History On November 10, 2022, MLS Next Pro announced that a new independent club from North Carolina would join the league in 2024. The club will be led by Eddie Pope as its Chief Sporting Director and owned by Megan Oglesby, Matt Penley, and Mark Penley. They will play at Truist Point following planned renovations to increase the stadium's capacity to 5,000. Truist Point is a baseball stadium located in High Point, North Carolina and is home to the High Point Rockers of the Atlantic League of Professional Baseball. The ballpark is bordered by Elm, English, Gatewood and Lindsay streets. Truist (formerly BB&T Corporation) is paying $500,000 annually for 15 years for the naming rights. Donovan Ricketts
Donovan Ricketts (born 7 June 1977) is a Jamaican former professional footballer who played as a goalkeeper and is currently an assistant coach for FC Tulsa in the USL Championship. Ricketts played more than 100 games for Bradford City in England, and has more than 100 appearances in Major League Soccer and has twice been named MLS Goalkeeper of the Year. Amado Guevara (born 2 May 1976) is a Honduran former professional footballer and manager. He was the coach of Puerto Rico from 2018 to 2019.
