''Carolina'' is a 2003 American-German romantic comedy, romantic comedy film directed by Marleen Gorris, starring Julia Stiles, Shirley MacLaine, Alessandro Nivola, Mika Boorem, Randy Quaid, and Jennifer Coolidge. Marleen Gorris (born 9 December 1948) is a Dutch writer and director. Gorris is known as an outspoken feminism, feminist and supporter of gay and lesbian issues which is reflected in much of her work.
