Carol Davis (American Football)
Carol Davis ( Sagal; born ) is an American businesswoman and sports franchise owner. She is part-owner of the Las Vegas Raiders of the National Football League (NFL). Davis is the widow of longtime Raiders' owner Al Davis, and inherited the team upon her husband's death on October 8, 2011. Al Davis suggested in 1997 that Carol would succeed him should he no longer be able to run the Raiders franchise. He repeated this in 2006, and when asked in 2007 who would succeed him, Al Davis again confirmed his intention that Carol would take his place, claiming that then general manager Ron Wolf was "very close to Carol." Personal life Davis grew up in New York City, and graduated from New York University with a marketing degree. Carol Anne Davis (born 1961 in Dundee, Scotland), is a Scottish crime novelist and a writer on crimes, especially those committed by children or young people. Biography Davis left school at 15, and later graduated from the University of Dundee with an MA in criminology. As a postgraduate she received a diploma in adult and community education from the University of Edinburgh. In 1998, she left Scotland and moved to the south of England, where she lives today. Writing Her first three novels are set in the Marchmont district of Edinburgh, where she lived for many years. Her début novel, ''Shrouded'', has a trainee funeral director as protagonist. It charts his alcohol-fuelled descent into necrophilia and sexually motivated murder. Carol Ann Rymer Davis (November 28, 1944 – c. September 29, 2010) was an American balloonist, and radiologist. In 2004, she was the first woman to win the Gordon Bennet Cup for ballooning with fellow crewman Richard Abruzzo. For this historic win, they were awarded the 2005 Harmon Trophy. She was lost at sea on September 29, 2010, over the Adriatic Sea.
