Carnie Wilson (born April 29, 1968) is an American singer and television personality. She is the daughter of Brian Wilson and in 1989 co-founded the pop music trio Wilson Phillips with her younger sister Wendy. From 1995 onwards, she has also been a host or guest star on a variety of television shows. Early life and musical career Carnie Wilson was born in Los Angeles on April 29, 1968, the daughter of Brian Wilson of The Beach Boys and of his first wife, former singer Marilyn Rovell of The Honeys. ''Shadows and Light'' is the second album by American vocal group Wilson Phillips, released in 1992 by SBK Records. Background Following their best-selling debut album ''Wilson Phillips'', the trio enlisted the production again of Glen Ballard, who had also produced their debut. The album's songs have a big contrast with the ones on their debut. While the majority of the songs on their debut album are upbeat with positive, lightweight lyrics, ''Shadows and Light'' features darker songwriting from the trio that deal with personal issues, such as the estrangement with their fathers ("Flesh and Blood", "All the Way from New York"), or child abuse ("Where Are You?"). The album received mixed reviews and, although a success peaking at number four in the United States and being certified Platinum, it was seen as a commercial failure elsewhere. (also spelled without an exclamation mark as ''Carnie'' and also referred as ''The Carnie Wilson Show'') is an American daytime talk show hosted by Carnie Wilson that aired for one season from 1995 until 1996. The program was a production of Telepictures Productions, distributed by Warner Bros. Domestic Television Distribution. ''Carnie!'' premiered on September 4, 1995 and was one of several talk shows with first time hosts that premiered that fall. Although Wilson drew higher ratings than all of the newcomers, like them the show did not do well enough to last and ''Carnie!'' was cancelled at midseason. The Mamas & the Papas were a folk rock vocal group formed in Los Angeles, California, which recorded and performed from 1965 to 1968. The group was a defining force in the music scene of the counterculture of the 1960s. The group consisted of Americans John Phillips, Cass Elliot, and Michelle Phillips and Canadian Denny Doherty. Their sound was based on vocal harmonies arranged by John Phillips, the songwriter, musician, and leader of the group, who adapted folk to the new beat style of the early 1960s. ''Cats Don't Dance'' is a 1997 American animated musical comedy-drama film directed by Mark Dindal (in his feature directorial debut). It is the only fully animated feature produced by Turner Feature Animation, which was merged during the post-production of ''Cats Don't Dance'' into Warner Bros. Feature Animation after the merger of Time Warner with Turner Broadcasting System in 1996. Turner Feature Animation had previously produced the animated portions of ''The Pagemaster'' (1994).
