Carlotta (born 2 September 1943) is the stage name of Carol Byron , a transgender Australian cabaret performer and television personality. She began her career as an original cast member of the long-running Sydney-based male revue ''Les Girls'' (pronounced ''lay-girls'') cabaret show, which had an international following, starting in 1962 in Sydney's Kings Cross, New South Wales, Kings Cross. Carlotta performed spot-numbers as a singer and comedian, and eventually became the show's Master of Ceremonies, compere and lead attraction. Although best known as a cabaret performer, she appeared in the television series ''Number 96 (TV series), Number 96'' in 1974 as Miss Robyn Ross, in a comedic storyline as the girlfriend of Arnold Feather (Jeff Kevin) who unbeknown to him, she reveals that she is transgender, her appearance in the show is the first time a transgender actress played a transgender TV character anywhere in the world, in the series she was credited as ''Carole Lee'' ...

Mary Myers
Mary Myers (born Mary Breed Hawley; 1849–1932) was an American professional balloonist and aeronautical inventor, better known as "Carlotta, the Lady Aeronaut." She was the first American woman to fly her own lighter-than-air passenger balloon solo and set several records for balloon flights. Myers ran a business of manufacturing and selling passenger airship balloons and high altitude weather balloons with her husband, Carl Myers. The couple obtained several patents on aerial navigation devices and promoted these through exhibition demonstrations at county fairs and town shows. They built their balloons and related equipment at their " balloon farm" in Frankfort, New York. By the time Myers retired from flying passengers in 1891, she had made hundreds of ascents and carried more than 100,000 passengers up in her balloons. Carlotta is an unincorporated community in Humboldt County, California. It is located southeast of Fortuna, at an elevation of , about east of US Route 101 on California State Route 36. History Carlotta is named after Carlotta Vance, daughter of John M. Vance, who laid out the town as a summer resort. The first post office at Carlotta opened in 1903. At that time, it had several cottages, a hotel, store, blacksmith and saloon. Around 1915, a large farm at Carlotta was converted into a branch of Cottage Garden Nurseries, a company headquartered in New York; an orchard and thousands of ornamental plants were installed. Prohibition did in the saloon for a decade, and the depression of the 1930s reduced resort business, but the logging boom following World War II resulted in the construction of two large mills and housing for workers surrounding the town. Villa Carlotta is a villa and botanical garden in Tremezzo on Lake Como in Northern Italy. Today the villa is a museum, whose collection includes works by sculptors such as Antonio Canova, Bertel Thorvaldsen, and Giovanni Migliara; painters such as Francesco Hayez; and furniture pieces of previous owners.
