Carlos Viana
Carlos Alberto Dias Viana (born 22 March 1963) is a Brazilian journalist and politician, affiliated with the Liberal Party (PL) and currently a senator for Minas Gerais. Journalistic career Carlos Viana has a degree in journalism and a postgraduate degree in Strategic Marketing Management from the Center for Administrative Research at UFMG. Viana began his professional career at the age of 24, when he was chosen as the Brazilian representative of the company Deutsche Lufthansa AG to develop dissemination projects about Germany in the state of Minas Gerais, for six years. Carlos Viana carried out several activities and courses abroad, having visited 16 countries and taking thousands of Brazilians to know the German landscapes and professional fairs. 2022 Brazilian General Election
General elections were held on 2 October 2022 in Brazil to elect the president, vice president, the National Congress, the governors, vice governors, and legislative assemblies of all federative units, and the district council of Fernando de Noronha. As no candidate for president—or for governor in some states—received more than half of the valid votes in the first round, a runoff election for these offices was held on 30 October. Rodrigo Pacheco (politician)
Rodrigo Otavio Soares Pacheco (born 3 November 1976) is a Brazilian politician and lawyer, serving as the President of the Federal Senate and of the National Congress of Brazil. Although born in Rondônia, he has spent his political career representing Minas Gerais, having served as senator since 2019. He previously served in the chamber of deputies from 2015 to 2019. Personal life Pacheco was born to Helio Cota Pacheco and Marta Maria Soares. Prior to becoming a politician Pacheco worked as a lawyer, with emphasis of criminal justice prosecution. Political career Pacheco voted in favor of the impeachment motion of then-president Dilma Rousseff, and he would abstain in a vote for a similar corruption investigation into Rousseff's successor Michel Temer. The 2018 state elections in Minas Gerais were held on 7 October, as part of the 2018 Brazilian general election, general elections in the Federal District (Brazil), Federal District and in States of Brazil, 26 states, to elect one Governor and Vice Governor, two Brazilian Senate, Senators and four substitutes for Senator, 53 Chamber of Deputies (Brazil), Federal Deputies, and 77 Legislative Assembly of Minas Gerais, State Deputies.
