Carlos Rodríguez Mateo
Carlos Rodríguez Mateo (born July 25, 1965) is a Puerto Rican politician, former mayor of Salinas and current senator. Rodríguez is affiliated with the New Progressive Party (PNP) and served as mayor from 2005 to 2013. Started his college career University of Puerto Rico, Río Piedras Campus. In 1984, obtained a bachelor's degree in natural sciences with a concentration in biology. Four years later culminated his doctorate in medicine from Pontificia Universidad Católica Madre y Maestra (PUCMM) in the Dominican Republic. Puerto Rico Senatorial District VI, also known as the Senatorial District of Guayama, is one of the eight senatorial districts of Puerto Rico. It is currently represented by Miguel Pereira Castillo and Angel M. Rodríguez (from the Popular Democratic Party). Salinas, Puerto Rico
Salinas (, ) is a town and municipality in the southern part of Puerto Rico located in the southern coast of the island, south of Aibonito and Cayey; southeast of Coamo, east of Santa Isabel; and west of Guayama. Salinas is spread over 5 barrios and Salinas Pueblo (the downtown area and the administrative center of the city). It has long been a fishing spot for Puerto Ricans, known for its beaches, fish variety and the birthplace of the famous "mojo isleño".
