''Carlos Ponce'' is the eponymous debut studio album released by Carlos Ponce. It was produced by Emilio Estefan and Kike Santander. The album was promoted by its lead singles "Rezo" and " Decir Adios", both of which topped the Hot Latin Songs and Latin Pop Airplay charts in the United States. At the 1999 ''Billboard'' Latin Music Awards, it won Pop Album by a New Artist and was nominated for Pop Album of the Year by a Male Artist, but lost to '' Vuelve'' by Ricky Martin Enrique Martín Morales (born December 24, 1971), known professionally as Ricky Martin, is a Puerto Rican singer, songwriter, and actor. Carlos Armando Ponce Freyre Jr. (born September 4, 1972) is a Puerto Rican actor, musician, model, and television personality. Ponce began his acting career by participating in Spanish language soap operas for Televisa and Telemundo. Ponce continued to expand his acting career by participating in various American television series. He did not limit himself solely to a career in television. Ponce, who is also a singer, is also active in the American movie industry as a character actor. In film, he played Salvadore in ''Couples Retreat'', Matthew Wright in ''Spy'' and Rodrigo in '' Deuce Bigalow: European Gigolo''. In television, he played Felix Gonzalez in ''Cristela'', Max Duran in '' Hollywood Heights'', as well as voicing Santiago Santos in ''Maya & Miguel''. Latin Pop Airplay (also referred to as Latin Pop Songs) is a record chart published on ''Billboard'' magazine and a subchart of the Latin Airplay chart. The chart focuses on Latin pop music, namely Spanish-language pop music. It was established by the magazine on October 8, 1994 as a subchart of the Hot Latin Songs chart until October 2012 when the Hot Latin Songs changed its methodology. The first number-one song on the chart was Mañana by Cristian Castro. This chart features only singles or tracks and like most ''Billboard'' charts, is based on airplay; the radio charts are compiled using information tracked by from Nielsen Broadcast Data Systems (BDS), which electronically monitors radio stations in more than 140 markets across the United States. The audience charts cross-reference BDS data with listener information compiled by the Arbitron ratings system to determine the approximate number of audience impressions made for plays in each daypart. EMI Group Limited (originally an initialism for Electric and Musical Industries, also referred to as EMI Records Ltd. or simply EMI) was a British transnational conglomerate founded in March 1931 in London.
