Carlos Negrón
Carlos José Negrón Colón (born March 5, 1988) is a professional boxer who competes in the heavyweight division. As an amateur, he represented Puerto Rico at numerous international events. Among the achievements reached during this stage of his career are winning bronze medal at the 2006 Central American and Caribbean Games and winning gold in the first Olympic qualifier tournament. Amateur career Early life and introduction to boxing Negrón was born in the municipality of Villalba, in the central region of Puerto Rico's main island. Several members in his family were active members in the Police Department of Puerto Rico. His father is Lt. José Adolfo Negrón, and his two older brothers, José Alberto Negrón and José Alfredo Negrón also selected police service as their career. Julio César Castillo Torres (born 10 May 1988) is an Ecuadorian amateur boxer. He won two medals at the Pan American Games: a bronze in 2007 and a silver in 2011. The 2007 Pan American Games, officially known as the XV Pan American Games, were a major continental multi-sport event that took place in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil, from July 13 to 29, 2007. Christopher Downs (born November 5, 1974) is a US-American amateur boxer who won a bronze medal at the 2007 Pan American Games 2007. Career A member of the U.S. Army's World Class Athlete Program, Sergeant Christopher Downs only took up boxing in 2003 at an advanced age. He had to put it on hold when he served in Tikrit in Iraq from January 2004 to March 2005.
