Carlos Fischer
Carlos Lorenzo Fischer Brusoni (1903 – 7 August 1969) was a Uruguayan political figure. He was President of Uruguay from 1958 to 1959, at the end of a long period of rule by Presidents of the Colorado Party (Uruguay), Colorado Party not to be resumed by that party until 1967. Background Fischer was a member of the Uruguayan Colorado Party (Uruguay), Colorado Party. From February 15, 1943, until November 9, 1949, during the 34th and 35th legislative period he was, representing the department Río Negro, a member of the Chamber of Deputies of Uruguay, Cámara de Representantes. The Chamber of Representatives ( es, Cámara de Representantes) is the lower house of the General Assembly of Uruguay (''Asamblea General de Uruguay''). Arturo Lezama Bagez (1899–1964) was a Uruguayan political figure. Martín Ricardo Echegoyen (3 April 1891 in Montevideo – 18 May 1974 in Montevideo) was a Uruguayan political figure. In the years 1959 to 1960 he was President of the Uruguayan National Council of Government. Political background Echegoyen was a member of the National Party, which in the 1958 elections ended the longstanding tradition of Colorado Party Presidents. He served under President Gabriel Terra as Education Minister from 1935 to 1936, and as Public Works Minister from 1936 to 1938.
