Carlos Banteux
Carlos Banteur Suárez (born October 13, 1986) is a Cuban amateur boxer from Santiago de Cuba best known for qualifying for the 2008 Olympics at welterweight. His name is sometimes misspelled Banteaux, Banteaur or Banteux by some sources outside Cuba. Career Banteur won the 64 kg World Junior Championships 2004, but struggled at senior level for years at junior welter even nationally. His best result was a second place in 2006 vs Inocente Fiss, in 2007 he again exited early. After the failed defection of dominant welterweight world champion Erislandy Lara, however, Lara was sidelined and the division was wide open. Banteur moved up and won the 2008 nationals immediately with a clear 15:6 final win over veteran Yudel Johnson. He won the Dominican ''Copa Independencia'' and dominated his four bouts at the Olympic qualifier routing Óscar Molina 19:4 in the all-important semifinal. Óscar Molina Casillas (born January 2, 1990) is a former American amateur and professional boxer who qualified for the 2012 Summer Olympics, representing Mexico. His twin brother, Javier, competed for the USA at the 2008 Summer Olympics. Career Molina was born in Commerce, California, a suburb east of Los Angeles. He participated at the 2008 Youth World Amateur Boxing Championships in Guadalajara, Mexico where he obtained the gold medal. At the 2010 Central American and Caribbean Games he won the silver medal losing the final to local Christian Peguero. A qanat or kārīz is a system for transporting water from an aquifer or water well to the surface, through an underground aqueduct; the system originated approximately 3,000 BC in what is now Iran. Kanat Islam ( kk, Қанат Ислам, Qanat İslam; zh, s=哈那提 斯拉木, p=Hanati Silamu; born 13 September 1984) is a Chinese-born Kazakhstani professional boxer who currently lives and trains in Miami. Billy Joe Saunders (born 30 August 1989) is a British professional boxer. He is the first fighter from the Travelling community to win world championships in two weight classes, including the WBO middleweight title from 2015 to 2018 and the WBO super-middleweight title from 2019 to 2021.
