Carlos Aldabe
Carlos Roberto Aldabe (January 1, 1919 – October 16, 1998) was an Argentine Association Football player and coach. He is mostly known for leading the then prominently staffed Colombian club CD Los Millonarios as player-manager to their first championship. As player Aldabe was from 1939 to 1944 a defender with CA Platense in the Argentine first division and from 1945 to 1946 with Quilmes AC in the second division ''Primera B''. Both clubs are located in the Province of Buenos Aires. He joined CD Los Millonarios in the Colombian capital Bogotá where he was player-manager in 1949. After the professionalisation of the Colombian football in the previous season the Argentine star ''El Maestro'' Adolfo Pedernera from CA River Plate in Buenos Aires joined the club in June 1949. ''El Gráfico'' is an Argentine online sports magazine, originally published by Editorial Atlántida as a print publication between 1919 and 2018. ''El Gráfico'' was released in May 1919 as a weekly newspaper, and then turned to a sports magazine exclusively. It began to be scheduled monthly from 2002, and was discontinued in 2018, continuing only online. The magazine was nicknamed ''La Biblia del deporte'' ("The Bible of sports") due to its chronicles, notable journalists and collaborators and its photographies. History The foundation of the magazine was an initiative of Uruguayan entrepreneur Constancio C. Vigil, that had founded '' Atlántida'' magazine in 1918 with great success, but the '' tragic week'' riots in 1919 stopped the activities. Club Atlético Talleres (; (lit. Workshops Athletic Club) mostly known simply as Talleres (lit. Workshops) or Talleres de Córdoba ) (Córdoba Workshops) is an Argentine sports club from the city of Córdoba. Néstor Rossi
Néstor Raúl "Pipo" Rossi (Buenos Aires, 10 May 1925 – 13 June 2007) was an Argentine footballer who played as a midfielder. Playing career Nicknamed "Pipo", he started his career at River Plate, playing from 1945 to 1949, and then again from 1955 to 1958, winning a total of 5 Argentine leagues. In total, Rossi played 155 matches for River Plate scoring 7 goals. From 1949 to 1955 he played in Colombia for Millonarios winning 6 championships. He also had a spell in Argentine Huracán, playing 54 matches. Rossi played for the Argentina national football team during the 1958 FIFA World Cup, as well as in the Copa América in several occasions, winning the 1947 and 1957 editions. Adolfo Pedernera
Adolfo Alfredo Pedernera (15 November 1918 – 12 May 1995) was an Argentine football player and coach. Nicknamed "El Maestro" ("The Teacher"), he was widely considered to be one of the best world football players in the 1940s and one of the greatest Argentine players of all time. Pedernera was the natural conductor of both the famous River Plate team known as La Máquina ("The Machine"), with whom he won several Argentine and South American titles, and the Millonarios team called Ballet Azul ("Blue Ballet") that won the Small Club World Cup in 1953 among many others Colombian titles. Quilmes () is a city on the coast of the Rio de la Plata, in the , on the south east of the Greater Buenos Aires. The city was founded in 1666 and it is the seat of the eponymous county. A player-coach (also playing coach, captain-coach, or player-manager) is a member of a sports team who simultaneously holds both playing and coaching duties. A player-coach may be a head coach or an assistant coach. They may make changes to the squad and also play on the team. Very few current major professional sports teams have head coaches who are also players, though it is common for senior players to take a role in managing more junior athletes.
