Carlingford Railway Station, Sydney
Carlingford railway station was a railway station in Sydney, Australia. It opened in 1896 and was the terminus of the Carlingford line, which served the suburb of Carlingford and was served by Sydney Trains T6 Carlingford line services. The Carlingford railway line was closed on 5 January 2020 with the station demolished in May 2020. History Carlingford station was built as the terminus of a new privately owned railway from Rosehill. ''The Cumberland Argus and Fruitgrowers' Advocate'' of 12 January 1895 described the plans for the station: The station opened on 20 April 1896 as Pennant Hills, but the line was never used, as the owner had got into financial difficulty. Pennant Hills was supposed to be a temporary terminus, as it was originally intended to extend the line to Dural. The initial section of line was eventually taken over and upgraded by the government. Hillsbus is an Australian bus company that operates services in the Hills District of Sydney. Founded in 2004 when National Express merged its Glenorie Bus Company and Westbus (Hills District operations only) subsidiaries, it is today part of ComfortDelGro Australia. Town Hall Railway Station, Sydney
Town Hall railway station is a heritage-listed underground commuter rail station located in the centre of the Sydney central business district in New South Wales, Australia. The station opened on 28 February 1932. It is named after the Sydney Town Hall, located directly above the station. History The station is built on the site of Sydney's earliest colonial cemetery, the Old Sydney Burial Ground. In 2008, part of this cemetery was being excavated from under the Town Hall. The station opened on 28 February 1932 and was built with six platforms, which were split over two levels with three platforms on each level. When the station opened, only four of the platforms were in use: platforms 1, 2 and 3 on the upper level and platform 6, served by escalators, on the lower level. Macquarie Park () is a suburb in the Northern Sydney region of Sydney, New South Wales, Australia. Epping railway station is a railway station in Epping, in the northern region of Sydney. It is served by Sydney Trains T9 Northern Line, NSW TrainLink Central Coast & Newcastle Line, and Metro North West Line services. History The station opened as Field of Mars on 17 September 1886. Meadowbank Ferry Wharf
Meadowbank ferry wharf is located on the northern side of the Parramatta River serving the Sydney suburb of Meadowbank. History Prior to the construction of the Ryde Bridge in the 1930s, Ryde wharf, located to the east of Meadowbank wharf at the current Ryde Bridge site, was the passenger wharf servicing the area. Silt in the river and sludge from factory and industrial waste upstream led to the suspension of Sydney Ferries Limited services to Parramatta in 1928, with Meadowbank wharf becoming the westernmost point for ferry services.
