Carlik Jones
Carlik Anthony Jones (born December 23, 1997) is an American-South Sudanese professional basketball player for the Zhejiang Golden Bulls of the Chinese Basketball Association (CBA). He played college basketball for the Radford Highlanders and the Louisville Cardinals. Jones plays for the South Sudan national team, who he joined ahead of the 2023 FIBA Basketball World Cup. Early life and high school career Jones grew up in Cincinnati, Ohio and attended Aiken High School. He competed alongside Jarron Cumberland in AAU play. He was named third team All-Division IV and first-team all-Cincinnati Metro Athletic Conference after 12.5 points, 5.7 rebounds and 5.1 assists per game as a junior. Jones signed with Radford for college basketball on November 12, 2015. The Radford Highlanders men's basketball represents Radford University in NCAA Division I intercollegiate men's basketball competition. A member of the Big South Conference, their current head coach is Darris Nichols. The Highlanders play at the Dedmon Center, which has a capacity of 3,000. The Liberty Flames men's basketball team is the men's basketball team that represents Liberty University. They play their home games at Liberty Arena and are members of the ASUN Conference, having moved there in July 2018 after 27 seasons in the Big South. Redshirt, in United States college athletics, is a delay or suspension of an athlete's participation in order to lengthen their period of eligibility. Typically, a student's athletic eligibility in a given sport is four seasons, aligning with the four years of academic classes typically required to earn a bachelor's degree at an American college or university. Hughes STEM High School is a public high school located in Cincinnati, Ohio. It is part of the Cincinnati Public Schools. History The first Hughes High School was established in 1853 on property on Fifth and Mound streets. The school owes its name to Thomas Hughes, an Englishman and shoemaker, who, by his will, dated December, 1826, left his property for a high school, which was built in 1853 at a cost of $23,375. Jarron Cumberland (born September 22, 1997) is an American professional basketball player who last played for the Delaware Blue Coats of the NBA G League. He played college basketball for the Cincinnati Bearcats. High school career Cumberland attended Wilmington High School in Wilmington, Ohio. The South Sudan national basketball team is the national basketball team representing South Sudan. Its official name is South Sudan Basketball Federation. It was established in May 2011, and became a member of FIBA in December 2013. They are nicknamed the Bright Stars.
