Carleton Macy (1861-1946) was an American stage, screen and vaudeville actor. He appeared in much stage work before embarking on a film career in 1915 with William Fox. He often appeared in vaudeville with his wife, Maude Hall, in an act called "Magpie and the Jay". New Brighton is a neighborhood located on the North Shore, Staten Island, North Shore of Staten Island in New York City. Bay Shore is a hamlet and census-designated place (CDP) in the Town of Islip, New York, United States. It is situated on the South Shore of Long Island, adjoining the Great South Bay. The population of the CDP was 29,244 at the time of the 2020 census. History Bay Shore is one of the older hamlets on Long Island. Sagtikos Manor, located in West Bay Shore, was built around 1697. It was used as a British armed forces headquarters, at the time of the Battle of Long Island during the Revolutionary War. Wilhelm Fried Fuchs ( hu, Fried Vilmos; January 1, 1879 – May 8, 1952), commonly and better known as William Fox, was a Hungarian-American film industry executive who founded the Fox Film Corporation in 1915 and the Fox West Coast Theatres chain in the 1920s. Although he lost control of his film businesses in 1930, his name was used by 20th Century Fox (now ''20th Century Studios'') and continues to be used in the trademarks of the present-day Fox Corporation, including the Fox Broadcasting Company, Fox News, Fox Sports and Foxtel. ''Seven Keys to Baldpate'' is a 1929 American pre-Code sound film produced and distributed through RKO Pictures. It was the first sound film based on the 1913 Earl Derr Biggers novel/ George M. Cohan play '' Seven Keys to Baldpate'', following three different silent film versions (1916, 1917 and 1925). The film had its premiere on Christmas Day, 1929 in New York City, and its official release was the following month. Plot In a New York City club, famous novelist William Halliwell "Mac" Magee makes a $5,000 bet with a wealthy friend, Hal Bentley, that he can write a 10,000-word story within 24 hours at the "lonesomest spot on Earth": a summer resort in the winter.
