Cari Cari
Cari Cari is an Austrian indie rock duo formed by drummer and singer Stephanie Widmer and guitarist/singer Alexander Köck. They claim to have founded the band to get their music in a Quentin Tarantino film. The duo released their debut EP ''AMERIPPINDUNKLER'' in 2014 followed by a tour through Australia including shows in Darwin, Cairns and Melbourne. The songs "No War" and "White Line Fever" were featured in the US TV-series '' Shameless'' and '' The Magicians''. In 2017/2018 the duo was awarded the ''XA - Austrian Music Export Award'' and performed at festivals such as Primavera Sound Barcelona, Eurosonic Noorderslag, Free Tree Festival and Sonograph in Austria, and The Great Escape Festival in the UK. In 2022, Cari Cari won the radio FM4 FM4 is an Austrian national radio station operated by the ORF. Indie rock is a Music subgenre, subgenre of rock music that originated in the United States, United Kingdom and New Zealand from the 1970s to the 1980s. Originally used to describe independent record labels, the term became associated with the music they produced and was initially used interchangeably with alternative rock or "Pop rock, guitar pop rock". One of the primary scenes of the movement was Dunedin, where Dunedin sound, a cultural scene based around a convergence of noise pop and jangle became popular among the city's University of Otago, large student population. Primavera Sound
Primavera Sound (commonly referred to as simply Primavera) is an annual music festival held in Parc del Fòrum in Barcelona, Spain that takes place between the end of May and beginning of June. The first edition took place in 2001 in Poble Espanyol and moved to the Parc del Fòrum, a much larger site on the seafront, in 2005. The nature of the festival (urban and an integrated part of the city) and the wide range of bands represented have made Primavera Sound a meeting point for artists and spectators from all generations. Primavera Sound is one of the largest and most-attended music festivals in Europe and the biggest in the Mediterranean. The success of the festival led to an expansion to Porto in 2012. Eurosonic Noorderslag is an annual four-day music showcase festival and conference held in January in Groningen, Netherlands. The first three days of the festival (Eurosonic) feature artists from all over Europe, the last day of the festival (Noorderslag) features only Dutch artists. The Great Escape Festival
The Great Escape Festival is a three-day music festival held in Brighton and Hove, England every year in May. It is operated by MAMA Festivals and showcases new music from a variety of genres. The festival was founded in 2006 and roughly hosts 300 bands across 30 venues throughout the city. It has been likened to South by Southwest. There is also a music industry convention section to the event, which is attended by over 3000 delegates.
