The Caretaker Prime Minister of Pakistan ( ur, ) is the acting head of government in Pakistan following the Dissolution of parliament, dissolution of the National Assembly of Pakistan, National Assembly. Sardar Mir Balakh Sher Mazari ( ur, ; 8 July 1928 – 4 November 2022) was a Pakistani politician who served as Caretaker Prime Minister of Pakistan for five weeks in 1993. He was the tumandar (or chieftain) and the paramount sardar of the Mazari tribe which is situated on the tristate area between Balochistan, Sindh, and Punjab provinces of Pakistan. Ghulam Ishaq Khan
Ghulam Ishaq Khan ( ur, غلام اسحاق خان; 20 January 1915 – 27 October 2006), was a Pakistani bureaucrat who served as the seventh president of Pakistan, elected in 1988 following Zia's death until his resignation in 1993. The National People's Party (NPP) ( ur, ) was a political party located in Pakistan (most active in the province of Sindh and southern parts of Punjab). A caretaker government is a temporary ''ad hoc'' government that performs some governmental duties and functions in a country until a regular government is elected or formed. Depending on specific practice, it usually consists of either randomly selected or approved members of parliament or outgoing members until their dismissal.
