Caresses
''Caresses'' is a 1998 film by Ventura Pons, originally titled ''Carícies'' in Catalan. Plot Barcelona is the scenario for eleven entwined stories sharing the same characters. The movie deals with a variety of intimate relationships, portraying characters who have to experience intense emotions which cannot be materialised in caresses. Connections explored include several different family and romantic relationships across different genders, ages and generations. A recurring theme is the irony of how difficult communication can be, even when there is close contact. Partial expression, instincts vs. emotions and physical communication all play a part. Sergi López i Ayats (born 22 December 1965) is a Spanish actor mostly known for his work on '' Dirty Pretty Things'', ''Solo mía'', and ''Pan's Labyrinth''. He has developed a substantial career in both Spanish films and French films. Ventura Pons Sala (; born 25 July 1945, in Barcelona, Spain) is a Spanish movie director. He mainly directs films in Catalan but also in Spanish and English. Pons has directed 32 feature films and is one of the best-known Catalan film directors. Jordi Dauder i Guardiola (5 March 1938 – 16 September 2011) was a Spanish actor. Dauder was a veteran actor with a prolific career that includes over a hundred films, plays and television series. He developed to the immense majority of his work in France, where he appeared as actor in productions different from theatre, simultaneously that was taking part in the different political organizations. Sergi Belbel i Coslado (; born 1963) is a catalan-speaking Spanish playwright. He was the director of the Teatre Nacional de Catalunya from 2006 until 2013. Career Born in Terrassa, Belbel's first play was ''Calidoscopios y faros de hoy'' in 1986. He became well known with his play ''Carícies'' ("Caresses") in 1992. Montserrat ( ) is a British Overseas Territory in the Caribbean. It is part of the Leeward Islands, the northern portion of the Lesser Antilles chain of the West Indies.
