Card Game
A card game is any game using playing cards as the primary device with which the game is played, be they traditional or game-specific. Countless card games exist, including families of related games (such as poker). A small number of card games played with traditional decks have formally standardized rules with international tournaments being held, but most are folk games whose rules vary by region, culture, and person. Traditional card games are played with a ''deck'' or ''pack'' of playing cards which are identical in size and shape. Each card has two sides, the ''face'' and the ''back''. Normally the backs of the cards are indistinguishable. The faces of the cards may all be unique, or there can be duplicates. The composition of a deck is known to each player. In some cases several decks are shuffled together to form a single ''pack'' or ''shoe''. Jeu De Cartes (Stravinsky)
''Jeu de cartes'' (Card Game) is a neoclassical ballet in three "deals", composed by Igor Stravinsky in 1936–37 with libretto by the composer in collaboration with Nikita Malayev, a friend of Stravinsky's eldest son Théodore, and with choreography by George Balanchine. The ballet was premiered by the American Ballet at the Metropolitan Opera House, New York City on 27 April 1937, with the composer conducting; the European premiere followed on 13 October 1937 performed by the Staatskapelle Dresden under the direction of Karl Böhm. ''Jeu de cartes'' was commissioned in November 1935, although the idea of a card game, especially the game of poker, did not get firmly formed in Stravinsky's mind until after August 1936. The work was written during Stravinsky's neoclassical period. The main character is the deceitful Joker, who fashions himself unbeatable, owing to his chameleon-like ability to become any card. __NOTOC__ Pricing games are featured on the current version of the American game show ''The Price Is Right''. The contestant from Contestants' Row who bids closest to the price of a prize without going over wins the prize and has the chance to win additional prizes or cash in an onstage game. After the pricing game ends, a new contestant is selected for Contestants' Row and the process is repeated. Six pricing games are played on each hour-long episode. Prior to expanding to one hour in length, three games per episode were played during the half-hour format. With the exception of a single game from early in the show's history, only one contestant at a time is involved in a pricing game. ''Black Summer'' is an American streaming television series created by Karl Schaefer and John Hyams. It is a spinoff of ''Z Nation''. The first season, consisting of eight episodes, was released on Netflix on April 11, 2019. The series is produced by The Asylum, the same production company behind ''Z Nation'', and is written and directed primarily by Hyams, with Abram Cox writing and directing additional episodes. Jaime King stars in the lead role as Rose, a mother who is separated from her daughter during the earliest and deadliest days of a zombie apocalypse. The series garnered moderate approval from critics. Many of the filming locations are around and within Calgary, Alberta. In November 2019, Netflix renewed the series for an eight-episode second season, which was released on June 17, 2021. Proprietary card games are not listed since each game comes with a bespoke pack and the question is not relevant. Where two or more packs are listed, games may be predominantly played with just one pack as indicated at the relevant article. The composition is indicated in brackets thus: (suits x cards) e.g. (4 x AKQJT) means 4 suits each containing the Ace, King, Queen, Jack and Ten. The key to suits is: F = French-suited cards, G = German-suited cards, I = Italian-suited cards, Sp = Spanish-suited cards and Sw = Swiss-suited cards.
