The House of Caracciolo () is a prominent aristocratic family from the city of Naples. The Caracciolo are considered one of the most important families in the history of the Kingdom of Naples, holding relevant posts in the Spanish Empire as well. Battistello Caracciolo
Giovanni Battista Caracciolo (also called Battistello) (1578–1635) was an Italian artist and important Neapolitan follower of Caravaggio. He was a member of the murderous Cabal of Naples, with Belisario Corenzio and Giambattista Caracciolo, who were rumoured to have poisoned and disappeared their competition for painting contracts. Early life The only substantial early source of biography is that of Bernardo de' Dominici's unreliable publication of 1742. De Dominici's statements are often contradicted by documented facts and others cannot be substantiated independently. Archival documents state Caracciolo was born in Naples and baptised on 7 December 1578, as the son of Cesare Caracciolo and his wife Elena. The family lived in the parish of San Giovanni Maggiore. The ''Francesco Caracciolo''-class battleships were a group of four super-dreadnought battleships designed for the (Royal Italian Navy) in 1913 and ordered in 1914. The first ship of the class, ''Francesco Caracciolo'', was laid down in late 1914; the other three ships, ''Cristoforo Colombo'', ''Marcantonio Colonna'', and ''Francesco Morosini'' followed in 1915. Armed with a main battery of eight guns and possessing a top speed of , the four ships were intended to be the equivalent of the fast battleships like the British . Prince Francesco Caracciolo (18 January 1752 – 30 June 1799) was an Italian admiral and revolutionary. Early life and British service Caracciolo was born in Naples to a noble family. It is likely that he was named after St. Francis Caracciolo, a saint of the Catholic Church and Francesco's many times great uncle. He entered the British Royal Navy and learned his seamanship under Rodney. Alberto Pascual Caracciolo (March 23, 1918 – January 31, 1994) was an Argentina, Argentine Tango (music), tango musician, a musical arranger, orchestra director, composer and bandoneón player. Born in Palermo, Buenos Aires, he began his musical studies at the age of 8, and at 16 he started playing bandoneón in Antonio Arcieri´s orchestra. Caracciolo was respected and well known by his colleagues rather than by the public in general because he chose to hold a low profile. He was heard extensively on Radio in Argentina, radio and appeared occasionally on Television in Argentina, television, but his music was not known well known outside Argentina and Uruguay. Pasquale Caracciolo or Pasqual Caracciolo (''floruit'' 1566–1608) was a Neapolitan nobleman who wrote a substantial treatise on horses and horsemanship. His work ''La Gloria del Cavallo'' was first published in 1566. He is also a member of the House of Carácciolo ''La Gloria del Cavallo'' ''La Gloria del Cavallo'' is a treatise of about a thousand pages, dedicated almost entirely to horses and horsemanship. Fabio Caracciolo (born 6 September 1984) is a Belgian former footballer. Caracciolo made his debut in professional football for Dutch Eerste Divisie side MVV in 2001. Franco Caracciolo (29 March 1920 – 28 September 1999) was an Italian conductor. Life He was born in Bari in 1920. He studied piano and composing at the Conservatoire of S. Pietro a Majella in Naples, and conducting at the Accademia di Santa Cecilia in Rome. Career He toured widely as a concert and opera conductor, was leading conductor of the Scarlatti Orchestra of Naples from 1949 to 1964 and became the permanent conductor of the Sinfonica di Milano Orchestra of Radiotelevisione Italiana. Franco Vittadini
Franco Vittadini (9 April 1884 in Pavia – 30 November 1948 in Pavia) was an Italian composer and conductor. As a composer he is mostly known for his operas and sacred music. Born in Pavia, he began his musical studies in 1903 at the Milan Conservatory, but left prematurely because of a disagreement with the director, Giuseppe Gallignani. For a short period he was maestro di cappella and organist in Varese, thereafter spending the rest of his life in Pavia where he was the director of the Istituto Musicale from 1924 until his death. As a stage composer, Vittadini found his greatest success with the opera '' Anima allegra'' (1918 - 1919), performed abroad as well as in Italy. His ballet ''Vecchia Milano'' (1928) was also very successful.
