''Cara Fi'' (''Love Me'') is a Welsh romantic comedy-drama series that first broadcast in November 2014 on S4C, and was later made available on the BBC iPlayer. The eight-part series was created by Sarah Dollard. In 2015 the show was nominated for the BAFTA Cymru awards for costume design and for original music. Plot When a sleepy seaside village in Wales runs out of women, the locals try to turn things around by advertising their single men on the side of milk cartons leaving the dairy. Each episode focuses on a new woman arriving in the village to be set up with a local man. The milk scheme is the brainchild of pub landlady Nancy Hopkins (Christine Pritchard), whose chief goal is to find a wife for her son, Will (Iwan John), so he won't move away from Tretarw. Unbeknownst to Nancy, Will is gay. The series kicks off as Nancy's daughter, newly-single Nina (Rhian Jones), moves back to the village with her own daughter Lee (Saran Morgan). Sarah Dollard
Sarah Dollard (born 21 January 1980) is an Australian television screenwriter, living and working in the United Kingdom. She made her start in writing for television on the long-running Australian soap opera ''Neighbours'', before moving to the UK in 2008. She created and wrote the Welsh romantic comedy series ''Cara Fi'' (Love Me), which debuted on S4C in 2014. In December 2020 it was announced that Dollard would adapt Frances Hardinge's supernatural horror novel ''Cuckoo Song (novel), Cuckoo Song'' for Netflix. She is 73rd Primetime Emmy Awards, Emmy nominated for her work as a Producer on ''Bridgerton''. Gavin & Stacey
''Gavin & Stacey'' is a British sitcom written by James Corden and Ruth Jones about two families: one in Billericay, Essex; one in Barry, South Wales. Mathew Horne and Joanna Page play the titular characters Gavin and Stacey and the writers star as Smithy and Nessa. Alison Steadman and Larry Lamb star as Gavin's parents ( Pam and Mick), and Melanie Walters ( Gwen) is Stacey's mother and Rob Brydon ( Bryn) is Stacey's uncle. S4C (, ''Sianel Pedwar Cymru'', meaning ''Channel Four Wales'') is a Welsh language free-to-air Public service broadcasting in the United Kingdom, public broadcast television channel. Launched on 1 November 1982, it was the first television channel to be aimed specifically at a Welsh-speaking audience. S4C's headquarters are based in Carmarthen, at the University of Wales Trinity Saint David's creative and digital centre, Yr Egin. It also has regional offices in Caernarfon and Cardiff.
