''Captain Nemo'' (russian: Капитан Немо, Kapitan Nemo) is a 1975 Soviet three-part television miniseries directed by Vasily Levin loosely based on the novels ''Twenty Thousand Leagues Under the Seas'' (1870), its 1874 sequel ''The Mysterious Island'', and '' The Steam House'' (1880) by Jules Verne. Plot Episode 1. "Iron Whale" The second half of the 19th century. An unknown sea monster has been destroying and damaging warships of different countries for the last two years; those of them who get to the port find giant triangular holes in the sides. Sailing under threat, the United States equips the Blue Star military frigate to find and destroy the monster. Famous for his work on the mysteries of the depths of the sea, the French professor Pierre Aronax on the day of his wedding receives an invitation to join the punitive expedition and accepts it. Vladislav Dvorzhetsky
Vladislav Vatslavovich Dvorzhetsky (russian: Владислав Вацлавович Дворжецкий, 26 April 1939 – 28 May 1978) was a Soviet film actor. He appeared in eighteen films between 1970 and 1978. Dvorzhetsky was born in Omsk. In 1955 he entered the Omsk military medical school. In 1959 he started active service in the Soviet Army at Sakhalin Island as senior feldsher of the regiment. During this time he married the first time. In 1964 he went back to Omsk and entered the actors' school of Omsk. After graduation in 1967, Vladislav was accepted in the company of the Omsk provincial dramatic theatre. Here he married for the second time. In 1968 the assistant director from film-studio Mosfilm visits Omsk and Dvorzhetsky got his first role in a film as General Khludow in '' The Flight'' (1970). Artek (camp)
Artek (russian: Арте́к) is an international children's center (a former Young Pioneer camp) on the Black Sea in the town of Gurzuf located on the Crimean Peninsula, near Ayu-Dag. It was established on 16 June 1925. The camp first hosted only 80 children but then grew rapidly. In 1969 it had an area of 3.2 km2 (790 acres). The camp consisted of 150 buildings, including three medical facilities, a school, the film studio Artekfilm, three swimming pools, a stadium with a seating capacity of 7,000 and playgrounds for various other activities. Unlike most of the young pioneer camps, Artek was an all-year camp, due to the warm climate. Artek was considered to be a privilege for Soviet children during its existence, as well as for children from other communist countries. During its heyday, 27,000 children a year vacationed at Artek.
