This is a list of '' Astro Boy'' chapters. Overview The Mighty Atom (known as '' Astro Boy'' mostly in the dub) manga series was first created from 1952 to 1968. The first episode was Ambassador Atom, the last episode was Showdown on Mt. Fuji and the total number of chapters is 112. Some anime episodes weren't made in the manga, while other episodes were adapted from the manga. Although the original, long-running, manga series was published in Shōnen Kobunsha between April 1952 and March 1968, the manga has also been serialized in the ''Sankei'' newspaper, and published in Mighty Atom Club, Second-Grader, as well as several one-shots and other specials. Between 2002 and 2004, Dark Horse Comics released a comprehensive 23-volume set, based on the Japanese language Akita Shoten collection – with the stories assembled in Tezuka’s preferred order rather than strictly chronologically. Astro Boy
''Astro Boy'', known in Japan by its original name , is a Japanese manga series written and illustrated by Osamu Tezuka. It was serialized in Kobunsha's ''Shōnen'' from 1952 to 1968. The 112 chapters were collected into 23 ''tankōbon'' volumes by Akita Shoten. Dark Horse Comics published an English translation in 2002. The story follows Astro Boy (character), Astro Boy, an android (robot), android young boy with human emotions who is created by Umataro Tenma after the recent death of his son Tobio. Eventually, Astro is sold to a robot circus run by Hamegg, but is saved from his servitude by Professor Ochanomizu. Astro becomes a surrogate son to Ochanomizu who creates a robotic family for Astro and helps him to live a normal life like an average human boy, while accompanying him on adventures. Black Jack (manga)
is an episodic Japanese manga series written and illustrated by Osamu Tezuka in the 1970s, dealing with the medical adventures of the title character, doctor Black Jack. ''Black Jack'' consists of hundreds of short, self-contained stories that are typically about 20 pages long. Black Jack has also been animated into an OVA, two television series (directed by Satoshi Kuwahara and Tezuka's son Makoto Tezuka) and two films. ''Black Jack'' is Tezuka's second most famous manga, after ''Astro Boy''. In 1977, it won the 1st Kodansha Manga Award for shōnen. About.com's Deb Aoki lists ''Black Jack'' as the best "re-issue of previously released material" of 2008. Osamu Dezaki's anime film adaptation, ''Black Jack: The Movie'', won Best Animation Film at the 1996 Mainichi Film Awards.
