Capsule Losing Contact
''Capsule Losing Contact'' is a compilation album and box set by the American slowcore band Duster. It was released by The Numero Group as part of the 200 Line series on March 22, 2019, and compiles the four previous Duster releases, ''Stratosphere,'' ''Contemporary Movement'', ''Transmission, Flux'' and ''1975'', as well as numerous singles, demos and unreleased material. The album is named after track 9 of the third disc, "Capsule Losing Contact". ''Capsule Losing Contact'''s total print run was 3,000 copies, though it was initially 2,000. The number of copies printed increased due to high demand from Numero customers. Adam Luksetich, the Numero employee who oversaw the Duster set, told '' The Ringer'' that "the idea of a Duster box had been discussed in the office for several years, and that it took some time to bring the members of the group around on the idea." Duster (band)
Duster is an American rock band consisting of multi-instrumentalists Clay Parton, Canaan Dove Amber, and Jason Albertini from San Jose, California. History Formed in 1996 with only Parton and Amber who had previously worked together in bands Mohinder and Calm, they released 2 cassettes in the same year titled On the Dodge and Christmas Dust, respectively, as well as a 7" titled ''Transmission, Flux'' on Up Records released in 1997. Later the next year, Jason Albertini joined the band as a drummer and played on three tracks for their debut album, 1998's ''Stratosphere'', and with 1999's ''1975'' EP, Albertini became much more involved in the group's process, playing many more instruments and sharing recording/producing credits with Parton and Amber. By 2000's ''Contemporary Movement'', he was fully involved in the creative process as a permanent member of the group. Montes Apenninus are a rugged mountain range on the northern part of the Moon's near side. They are named after the Apennine Mountains in Italy. With their formation dating back about 3.9 billion years, Montes Apenninus are fairly old. Description This range forms the southeastern border of the large Mare Imbrium lunar mare and the northwestern border of the Terra Nivium highland region. It begins just to the west of the prominent crater Eratosthenes, which abuts against the southern face of the range. To the west of these mountains is a narrow gap where Mare Imbrium in the north joins Mare Insularum to the south. Further to the west are the Montes Carpatus mountains. Slowcore is a subgenre of alternative rock and indie rock. The music of slowcore artists is generally characterized by bleak lyrics, downbeat melodies, slower tempos and minimalist arrangements. Slowcore is often used interchangeably with the term sadcore.
