Capsticks is a law firm founded by Brian Capstick based in South London. Not to be confused with Capstick's Law, a TV series. It specialises in health work. 5 partners from DAC Beachcroft's office in Leeds moved to the firm in 2013. It has been involved in the investigation of various scandals in the NHS, such as that into failings at Liverpool Community Health NHS Trust and into problems in GP practices. It is a member of the North of England Commercial Procurement Collaborative. It provides legal advice to General Practices. It has been suggested that conflicts of interest may cause problems because of its multiple roles in the NHS. It runs a Risk Barometer with the Health Service Journal. It is expected to secure an exclusive contract for prosecution work with the Solicitors Regulation Authority. It is on the Crown Commercial Service panel for general legal advice services. Capstick's Law
''Capstick's Law'' is a British television drama series that originally aired in 1989. Produced by Granada Television for the ITV network, it centred on a firm of solicitors in the 1950s. The period drama used Russell Harty's old house in the village of Giggleswick, North Yorkshire, for filming. Premise Edward and Madge Capstick are a happily married solicitor and his wife. The eldest son, Jonty, has just started his own practice. Their youngest son, Tony, is articled in London. It is May 1953. Liverpool Community Health NHS Trust
Liverpool Community Health NHS Trust was one of the community health trusts created in 2012 under the Transforming Community Services programme. It provided controversial services for people at the end of their life, Liverpool Care Pathway later nationally discredited and withdrawn. Care was organised across 18 neighbourhood teams in the city. Bernie Cuthel the chief executive resigned after the Care Quality Commission (CQC) issued the trust with two warnings in January 2014 for failing to meet national targets. Staff at Fazakerley hospital had raised concerns over “bullying” managers and a “blame culture” that made them afraid to report incidents. She obtained a post in Manchester Mental Health and Social Care Trust advising on change of culture necessary to reduce bullying. Solicitors Regulation Authority
The Solicitors Regulation Authority (SRA) is the regulatory body for solicitors in England and Wales. It is responsible for regulating the professional conduct of more than 125,000 solicitors and other authorised individuals at more than 11,000 firms, as well as those working in-house at private and public sector organisations. The SRA, based in Birmingham with an office in London, is led operationally by a Chief Executive and Senior Management Team, with a Board and Board Sub-Committees providing strategic direction. The SRA was formed in January 2007 by the Legal Services Act 2007 to act as the independent regulator of solicitors. NHS Employers is an organisation which acts on behalf of NHS trusts in the National Health Service in England and Wales. It was formed in 2004, is part of the NHS Confederation, and negotiates contracts with healthcare staff on behalf of the government.
