Michael Jean Francois Capponi (born April 5, 1972) is an American businessman. He is best known for helping to develop Miami Beach's nightlife and his humanitarian work with his foundation, Global Empowerment Mission. Early life Capponi was born in Belgium; he moved to Miami with his parents when he was six, and grew up on Key Biscayne. His parents divorced. He began working as a promoter for nightclubs when he was 15, organizing events and posting flyers, and while still in high school made $10,000 per month. Career In the 1980s, he promoted roving parties that attracted the attendance of the rich locals and celebrities. He is considered one of the most successful nightlight pioneers in Miami. Pat Capponi, (July 1, 1949 – April 6, 2020) was a Canadian writer and an advocate for mental health issues and poverty issues in Canada. Early life and education Patricia Ann Capponi was born in Montreal. She attended Dawson College and Sir George Williams University. Career Activism Capponi served as a board member at the Centre for Addiction and Mental Health in Toronto, as a part time board member of the Consent and Capacity Board and as a member of the Advocacy Commission in Ontario. Capponi was the co-facilitator of the "From Surviving To Advising" initiative undertaken by the Centre for Addiction and Mental Health (CAMH). The effort brought together consumer-survivors with psychiatry residents to allow those with lived experience to work with residents to understand new perspectives of recovery. Marquis Gino Capponi (Florence, 13 September 1792 – Florence, 3 February 1876) was an Italian statesman and historian of a Liberal Catholic bent. Biography The Capponi was an illustrious Florentine aristocratic family, and is mentioned as early as 1250; it acquired great wealth as a mercantile and banking firm, and many of its members distinguished themselves in the service of the republic and the Medicis (see Piero Capponi), and later in that of the house of Lorraine. Gino was the son of the Marquis Pier Roberto Capponi, a nobleman greatly attached to the reigning grand duke of Tuscany, Ferdinand III and also son of , foundress of the Passionist Sister. When that prince was deposed by the French in 1799 the Capponi family followed him into exile at Vienna, where they remained until he exchanged his rights to the grand duchy for a German principality (1803). Luigi Capponi (1582 – 6 April 1659) was an Italian Catholic cardinal who became archbishop of Ravenna. Biography Capponi was born in 1582, the son of Senator Francesco Capponi and Ludovica Macchiavelli. The Capponi family had extensive links to Italian political circles and to senior members of the Catholic Church. He was educated at the Archgymnasium of Rome where he received a doctorate and became a papal prelate and then treasurer of the Apostolic Chamber. He became a close friend of Cardinal Bonifazio Bevilacqua Aldobrandini. On 24 November 1608 he was elevated to cardinal and was installed as cardinal-deacon of Sant'Agata dei Goti. Piero Capponi (1447 – September 25, 1496) was an Italian statesman and military leader from Florence; he is celebrated for his bold defiance of the King of France in 1494. Biography First intended for a business career, Piero's diplomatic abilities were recognized by Lorenzo de' Medici, who sent him as ambassador to various courts, where he acquitted himself with distinction. In 1492 upon the death of Lorenzo, the feckless leadership Piero de' Medici led Capponi to become one of the leaders of the anti-Medicean faction which two years later succeeded in expelling this Medici ruler from Florence. Giuseppe Capponi
Giuseppe Capponi (14 September 1832 – 6 August 1889) was an Italian operatic tenor who sang leading roles both in Italy and Europe. He is most remembered today as the tenor soloist in the world premiere of the Verdi Requiem. Capponi was born in Cantiano near Pesaro and studied music there with the composer and Cantiano's maestro di cappella, Natale Pellicci. From 1857 he was the ''primo tenore'' in the choir of the Basilica della Santa Casa in Loreto, a post he held to the end of his life. He made his stage debut in 1858 at the Teatro Valle in Rome where he sang comprimario roles.
