Capital Xtra Reloaded
Capital XTRA Reloaded, is a Global-owned radio station operated as a sister station to Capital XTRA. It broadcasts from Birmingham and is available on DAB Digital Radio in London and on the Global Player app. Its output consists primarily of hip-hop, dance, garage, R&B and grime classics from the 1990s and 2000s. As of December 2022, the station broadcasts to a weekly audience of 412,000, according to RAJAR. History Global Radio announced in July 2019 that the station was to start broadcasting later the next month. Capital XTRA Reloaded launched on 2 September 2019. At launch the station had one presented show each weekday, a four-hour midmorning show presented by Sacha Brooks. Capital is a network of twelve Independent Local Radio, independent contemporary hit radio stations in the United Kingdom, broadcasting a mix of local and networked programming. Nine of the stations are owned and operated by Global Media & Entertainment, while the other three are owned and operated under separate franchise agreements. As of September 2022, the stations serve a combined weekly audience of 5.7 million listeners and target a core audience in the 15–34 age group; 57% of all listeners are within this demographic. Capital Dance (styled Capital DANCE) is a national digital radio station in the United Kingdom, owned and operated by Global and run as a spin-off from Capital. RAJAR
Radio Joint Audience Research Limited (RAJAR) was established in 1992 to operate a single audience measurement system for the radio industry in the United Kingdom. RAJAR is jointly owned by the BBC and RadioCentre. RAJAR's predecessor was called Joint Industry Committee on Radio Audience Research (JICRAR). Prior to this, the BBC and RadioCentre's predecessor CRCA carried out their own measurements independently of each other. Sacha Brooks
Sacha Brooks is a British radio presenter and DJ from Nottingham, England. She is currently employed by Global Radio. Sacha's radio career started on the pirate radio station Globe 107.7fm in Nottingham and she went on to launch Choice 102.2 in Birmingham. She relocated to Japan where she spent three years as a DJ before returning to the United Kingdom to join Vibe 105 – 108. She was then poached by Galaxy Birmingham to host "The Flava Zone" before being promoted to the Galaxy network based in Leeds, where she originally did the afternoon show before being moved up to the mid-morning one.
