As of 2015, there were 2,054 cantons in France. Ostwald (; Alsatian: ''Oschwold'') is a commune in the Bas-Rhin department in Grand Est in north-eastern France. History The ancient name of Ostwald, Wickersheim, is first attested on a map of the emperor Charles the Fat in 884.
