The Canton in France, canton of Charly-sur-Marne is a former administrative division in northern France. It was disbanded following the French canton reorganisation which came into effect in March 2015. It consisted of 19 communes, which joined the new canton of Essômes-sur-Marne in 2015. Charly-sur-Marne
Charly-sur-Marne (, literally ''Charly on Marne (river), Marne'') is a Communes of France, commune in the Aisne Départements of France, department in Hauts-de-France in northern France. Charly was an old fortified city dating from 9th century Duke of Burgundy, Burgundy, it was renamed ''Charly-sur-Marne'' in 2006. Geography The old city lies to the north of the Marne (river), Marne. The river has moved south through Accretion (geology), accretion since the town was originally built. Across the river are the villages of Nogent-l'Artaud and Pavant. The town of Charly is halfway between La Ferté-sous-Jouarre and Château-Thierry, and halfway between Paris and Rheims.
