Canoeing At The 2020 Summer Olympics – Men's Slalom K-1
The men's K-1 slalom canoeing event at the 2020 Summer Olympics took place on 28 and 30 July 2021 at the Kasai Canoe Slalom Course. 24 canoeists from 24 nations competed. Jiří Prskavec from the Czech Republic won the event, Jakub Grigar from Slovakia was second, and Hannes Aigner from Germany third. Prskavec and Aigner were bronze medalists in this event at the 2016 and 2012 Olympics, respectively; for Grigar, this is the first Olympic medal. Background This was the ninth appearance of the event, having previously appeared in every Summer Olympics with slalom canoeing: 1972 and 1992–2016. Reigning Olympic champion Joe Clarke did not make the Great Britain team, with that nation selecting Bradley Forbes-Cryans instead. Reigning World Champion Jiří Prskavec of the Czech Republic, who won bronze at the 2016 Games, earned a place for his nation. Lucien Delfour
Lucien Delfour (born 22 December 1988) is a French-Australian slalom canoeist who has competed at the international level since 2006. He represented France in the 2006 season. Since 2010 he has represented Australia. Delfour qualified for the 2020 Tokyo Olympics.He completed his heats and semi-final successfully with an excellent time of 91.12 in his heats second run the highlight. Delfour finished 8th in the final of the Men's slalom K1 event with a time of 102.33. Early years Delfour was born in Papeete in French Polynesia, He has the nickname 'Lulu' and started canoeing in 1997 at the age of 8. Delfour enjoyed both the slalom and downriver disciplines but had to make a choice. From the age of 14 he decided to focus solely on slalom. Isak Öhrström
Isak Öhrström (born 26 November 1990) is a Sweden, Swedish slalom canoeing, slalom canoeist and an Olympian who has competed since 2006. In 2008 as a junior he made it to the final at the World Championships in the Czech Republic. He also finished 4th at the Youth Olympic Games in Sydney 2009 after winning the semifinal. In Brazil 2016 he became the first Swedish athlete in history to compete in the Olympic Games in Canoe Slalom. He finished in 15th place in the Canoeing at the 2016 Summer Olympics – Men's slalom K-1, K1 event at the 2016 Summer Olympics in Rio de Janeiro. At the World Championships in Spain 2019 he qualified a nation quota for the Tokyo Olympic Games for Sweden.
