Canning Creek is a rural locality split between the Goondiwindi Region and the Toowoomba Region in Queensland, Australia. In the , Canning Creek had a population of 5 people. Geography The Millmerran–Inglewood Road ( State Route 82) passes through the locality from north to south. Much of the locality is occupied by a large portion of the Bringalily State Forest. History The locality takes its name from the creek name, which in turn was named in 1827 by Allan Cunningham after Sir George Canning, the Prime Minister of Great Britain in 1827. In 1848, 3 Aboriginal women and one child were murdered in the area by a posse of seven white men. Canning Creek was opened for selection on 17 April 1877; were available.
