''Candy Rain'' is the debut studio album from American R&B group Soul for Real, released March 28, 1995 on Uptown Records and distributed through MCA Records. The album peaked at number twenty-three on the ''Billboard'' 200 chart. By August 1995 it was certified platinum in sales by the RIAA after sales exceeding one million copies in the United States. Release and reception ''Candy Rain'' peaked at twenty-three on the United States ''Billboard'' 200 and number five on the R&B Albums chart. The album was certified platinum by August 1995. While Stephen Thomas Erlewine of Allmusic did call the group "undoubtedly fine singers," he didn't feel they were strong enough to make some of the weaker material on the album very convincing. Soul for Real (also known as Soul 4 Real and Soul IV Real) is an African-American Contemporary R&B, R&B group from Wyandanch, New York, currently living in Atlanta, Georgia made up of brothers Christopher Sherman Dalyrimple a.k.a. Choc (born April 30, 1971), Andre "Dre" Lamont Dalyrimple a.k.a. KD now (born April 4, 1974), Brian "Bri" Augustus Dalyrimple (born December 14, 1975), and Jason "Jase" Oliver Dalyrimple a.k.a. Jase4Real (born May 10, 1980). Terri & Monica
Terri & Monica was an R&B duo from the early 1990s which featured Terri Robinson (August 12, 1970) and Monica Payne (February 22, 1969), who were members of the short-lived late 1980s New Jack Swing R&B group The Gyrlz along with third member Tara Geter. As members of The Gyrlz, they released one album for Uptown Records under distribution from Capitol Records- 1988's ''Love Me or Leave Me''. After Geter left the group, Robinson and Payne continued on as a duo. They released a pair of full-length recordings, 1993's ''Systa'' and 1996's ''Suga'', both released via Epic Records. The latter spawned a Billboard Magazine hit single, "Sexuality (If You Take Your Love)." Dexter Gilman Wansel (born August 22, 1950) is an American R&B/jazz fusion singer, arranger, musician, composer, conductor, synthesist and A&R director. Early life Dexter Wansel began as an errand boy backstage at the Uptown Theater in Philadelphia from 1959 through 1963 for his step-uncle Georgie Woods. There he met many great artists who encouraged him to pursue music. During high school, he and his friend, Stanley Clarke, performed in bands together.
