Canary Islanders, or Canarians ( es, canarios), are a Romance people and ethnic group. Isleños (Spanish: ) are the inhabitants of the Canary Islands, and by extension the Kinship, descendants of Canarian people, Canarian settlers and immigrants to present-day Louisiana, Texas, Cuba, the Dominican Republic, Venezuela, Puerto Rico, and other parts of the Americas. In these places, the name ''isleño'' (Spanish for ':wikt:islander, islander') was applied to the Canary Islanders to distinguish them from Spanish mainlanders known as "peninsulars" ( es, peninsulares, links=no).
