Gianna Maria Canale
Gianna Maria Canale (12 September 1927 – 13 February 2009) was an Italian film actress. Biography Canale was born in 1927 in Reggio Calabria. In 1947, she competed in the Miss Italia beauty contest, where she was runner-up to Lucia Bosè. Following this, she appeared in many Italian magazines, with her looks being compared to those of Ava Gardner. Canale was offered a role in a movie by Riccardo Freda, with whom she eventually fell in love. They moved to Brazil where they were married and worked together in two movies. As Canale did not enjoy living in South America, the couple returned to Italy where, often directed by her husband, she starred in many sword and hood movies, as well as horror and adventure ones. ''I vampiri'' was her last film with Freda. Canale retired from acting in 1964 at the age of 37. She died in Sutri, Viterbo in January 2009. Gonzalo Canale
Gonzalo Canale (born 11 November 1982) is an Italian Argentine rugby union footballer. His usual position is in the centre or at full back. He plays for French club ASM Clermont Auvergne. Canale has also been capped for the Italy national team, and was a part of their squad at the 2003 Rugby World Cup in Australia and the 2011 Rugby World Cup in New Zealand. Born in Córdoba, Canale was trained and taught rugby in Argentina, where he played for La Tablada between the ages of 10 and 18. Canale later moved to Italy, and would go on to represent that country at both the under-19 and under-21 level during his early career. Jos Canale
Jos Canale (born Giuseppe Canale; September 21, 1949) is a Canadian former ice hockey coach, commonly known as Joe Canale. He was the 1991 recipient of the Coach of the Year Award in the Canadian Hockey League (CHL), and later coached the Canada men's national junior ice hockey team to a gold medal at the 1994 World Junior Ice Hockey Championships. He served as a head coach for more than 700 games in the Quebec Major Junior Hockey League (QMJHL), which included a 1991 Memorial Cup appearance, and twice being chosen to represent his league at the CHL All–Star Challenge. Canale later coached in the Western Hockey League and the Ontario Hockey League, becoming the first person to do so in all three leagues of the CHL. Near the end of his career Canale made headlines for a stick-swinging incident in a QMJHL playoff game. George Canale
George Anthony Canale (born August 11, 1965) is a retired Major League Baseball first baseman. He played Major League Baseball for three seasons with the Milwaukee Brewers. George Canale graduated from Cave Spring High School (Roanoke, Virginia) in 1983 and attended Virginia Tech. from 1984 to 1986. George hit 76 home runs during his collegiate career, currently 1st all-time at Virginia Tech and 7th all-time in Division I NCAA baseball. During the 1986 season, George Canale hit the most home runs in Division I baseball with 29 home runs. The same year, George was chosen as an All-American first baseman on the 1986 College Baseball All-America Team. His accomplishment led to his induction to the Virginia Tech Sports Hall of Fame.
