Canal 9 is a Nicaraguan terrestrial television channel broadcasting since 2011 from the city of Managua and owned by Digital Media de Nicaragua S.A., itself a part of the larger Grupo RATENSA. History The achievement of a supposed agreement between president Daniel Ortega and Mexican businessman Ángel González in 2007 for him to hand over Canal 4 practically free of charge, had led the telecommunications regulator (Telcor) to deliver a frequency that was assigned to be used exclusively by the State, which would offer public television. The frequency belonged to Canal 9, assigned to Digital Media de Nicaragua S.A., whose legal representative in 2011 was Alberto Leopoldo Mendoza D'Arcy. Ángel González was behind its setup, who in just like most of his businesses, did not appear in his companies, using figureheads for them. ''Di-Gata Defenders'' is an animated series created by Greg Collinson that was produced by LuxAnimation and Nelvana Entertainment. The series follows the travels and adventures of six teenagers, part of an organization called the Di-Gata Defenders. Their mission as heroes is to defend RaDos against evil factions. The series aired for two seasons. Creation In 2005, Nelvana Entertainment created a project called the Funpack. It was designed to allow creators to pitch and create 5 minute interstitials. At the time, Greg Collinson didn't plan on pitching anything for this project until a colleague of his discussed about it on a train ride. Xcalibur is a CGI sword-and-sorcery children's television series that aired on YTV from 1 September 2001 to 1 April 2002. The series is produced using Alias Wavefront Maya 3D software. Premise King Edwin, ruler of a medieval-like Kingdom is assassinated by his brother and regent, Bragan, who has made a truce with the evil warlock, Kwodahn.
