Canadian New Zealanders
Canadian New Zealanders are New Zealand citizens who are of Canadian descent including immigrants or Canadian-born citizens and residents. Canadian New Zealanders constitute a small minority of New Zealand's population. During the 19th century, many Canadians from Nova Scotia, New Brunswick and Prince Edward Island settled in New Zealand. The largest group settlement was at Waipu, where Scottish-born Reverend Norman McLeod settled his congregation of Scottish and Nova Scotian emigrants during the 1850s. Other Canadian settlements included Helensville, founded by John McLeod and named for his wife. And Brunswick, founded by Tamberlane Campbell and named for his home province of New Brunswick. 2013 New Zealand Census
The 2013 New Zealand census was the thirty-third national census. "The National Census Day" used for the census was on Tuesday, 5 March 2013. The population of New Zealand was counted as 4,242,048, – an increase of 214,101 or 5.3% over the 2006 census. The 2013 census forms were the same as the forms developed for the 2011 census which was cancelled due to the February 2011 major earthquake in Christchurch. There were no new topics or questions. New Zealand's next census was conducted in March 2018. Collection methods The results from the post-enumeration survey showed that the 2013 census recorded 97.6 percent of the residents in New Zealand on census night. However, the overall response rate was 92.9 percent, with a non-response rate of 7.1 percent made up of the net undercount and people who were counted in the census but had not received a form. New Brunswick (french: Nouveau-Brunswick, , locally ) is one of the thirteen provinces and territories of Canada. It is one of the three Maritime provinces and one of the four Atlantic provinces. Lynette Grant Sadleir (born 1 August 1963) is a New Zealand paediatric neurologist and epileptologist, and a former synchronised swimmer and coach. Biography Born on 1 August 1963 in Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada, Sadleir competed for New Zealand in synchronised swimming at the 1984 Summer Olympics in Los Angeles. With her sister Katie Sadleir, she finished 12th in the women's duet. She also competed in the women's solo, finishing in 35th place. Aaron Duane Olson (born 11 May 1978) is a Canadian-New Zealand former professional basketball player who played the majority of his career in New Zealand. Early life and career Born in Whitehorse, Yukon, Canada to a New Zealand mother and a Canadian father, Olson moved back and forth between the two countries as a youth, spending time living in Nelson and the Bay of Islands region.
