Canada Women's National Inline Hockey Team
Canada women's national inline hockey team is the national team for Canada, which participates at the FIRS Inline Hockey World Championships, an event by the Comité International de Roller In-Line Hockey (CIRILH), an organization and discipline of the Fédération Internationale de Roller Sports (FIRS). The national team has captured five world championships (2002, 2004, 2005, 2012 and 2016). Canada has enjoyed 14 podium finishes in the FIRS Inline Hockey World Championships from 2002 to 2017. FIRS Inline Hockey World Championships
The Inline Hockey World Championship is an annual inline hockey tournament organized by World Skate. Prior to the creation of World Skate in September 2017, the championship was administrated by the Comité International Roller In-Line Hockey (CIRILH), an organization and discipline of Fédération Internationale de Roller Sports (FIRS). It is the sport's highest-profile annual international tournament. The first men's World Championship was held was in 1995 and comprised twelve national teams. The structure established at the inaugural tournament featured all teams participating in a round-robin stage, followed by single elimination games to determine the champion. This basic format would be used until 2006, though the number of teams changed. Samantha Shirley
Samantha Shirley (born May 2, 1983) is a former women's ice hockey player and member of the Canada women's national inline hockey team, appearing at eight FIRS Inline Hockey World Championships. Playing career Ice hockey Shirley joined the Mercyhurst Lakers women's ice hockey program in the autumn of 2002. Tying for the team lead in the 2002–03 Mercyhurst Lakers women's ice hockey season, Shirley captured the College Hockey America Rookie of the Year Award. Serving as team captain for the 2005–06 Mercyhurst Lakers women's ice hockey season, gracing the ice in all 37 games. Her 11 goals ranked fourth while her 26 points ranked fifth on the Lakers. Lisa-Marie Breton
Lisa-Marie Breton (born August 3, 1977) is an assistant coach with Les Canadiennes de Montréal (formerly Montreal Stars). For the 2010–11 Montreal CWHL season, Breton is the team captain. Breton has also competed for the Canada women's national inline hockey team, capturing a gold medal for Canada at the 2005 FIRS Inline Hockey World Championships in Paris, France. Breton started playing hockey at the age of six. She is a co-founder of the CWHL, has served as a board member and continues to work relentlessly to further develop the world's top women's hockey league. Isabelle Chartrand
Isabelle Chartrand (born April 20, 1978) is a Canadian retired ice hockey defenceman. As a member of the Canadian national ice hockey team, she won Olympic gold at the 2002 Winter Olympics and a gold medal at the 2001 IIHF Women's World Championship. Playing career Chartrand began playing ringette as a child but would eventually shift to ice hockey. By the age of 16, she was a member of Team Quebec. At the 1995 Canada Winter Games, she would claim a bronze medal in ice hockey. Four years later, she took gold with Team Quebec at the Esso women's hockey nationals. She played two seasons, 1998–99 and 1999–2000, with Laval Le Mistral of the National Women's Hockey League. Amanda Benoit-Wark
Amanda Benoit-Wark (born January 22, 1976) is a Canadian ice hockey player. Benoit-Wark played for the Canada women's national ice hockey team from 1996 to 2004. Benoit is a two-time World Champion playing in both 1999 and 2000 World Championships. Playing career During the 1980s, she played organized hockey in Welland, Ontario and with the Stoney Creek Minor Hockey Association, capturing MVP honours at Stoney Creek in 1988. In 1993, she was selected to play with Team Ontario Red at the 1993 Canadian national women's under-18 championship. Caroline Ouellette
Caroline Ouellette (born May 25, 1979) is a Canadian retired ice hockey player and current associate head coach of the Concordia Stingers women's ice hockey program. She was a member of the Canadian national women's ice hockey team and a member of Canadiennes de Montreal in the Canadian Women's Hockey League. Among her many accomplishments are four Olympic gold medals, 12 IIHF Women's World Championship medals (six gold, six silver), 12 Four Nations Cup medals (eight gold, four silver) and four Clarkson Cup championships. Meghan Christina Agosta (born February 12, 1987) is a Canadian women's ice hockey forward, who last played for the Montreal Stars of the Canadian Women's Hockey League. Agosta plays for the Canada women's national ice hockey team and is a gold (3) and silver medallist at the Winter Olympics of 2006 Turin, 2010 Vancouver, 2014 Sochi, and 2018 Pyeongchang Winter Olympics. Keely Brown (goaltender)
Keely Brown is a former Canadian national level athlete who played ringette, roller in-line hockey, and ice hockey as a goaltender. She played for the Canada national ringette team, Canadian Senior National Ringette Team and was also a goalie on the Canada women's national inline hockey team, Canadian Women's National Inline Hockey team. Brown also played semi-professional ringette in Canada's National Ringette League and in semi-pro women's ice hockey. Brown currently works for the National Hockey League's, Edmonton Oilers as a Senior Legal Counsel, and works for the Oilers Entertainment Group (OEG). Cherie Piper (born June 29, 1981) is a Canadian former ice hockey player residing in Markham, Ontario. She was a member of the Canadian national women's hockey team and played for the Brampton Thunder of the Canadian Women's Hockey League (CWHL).
