Adonis Stevenson
Stevenson Adonis (born 22 September 1977), best known as Adonis Stevenson, is a Haitian Canadian former professional boxer who competed from 2006 to 2018. He won the WBC, ''Ring'' magazine and lineal light-heavyweight titles in 2013 by defeating Chad Dawson by first-round knockout, which earned him awards for Fighter of the Year and Knockout of the Year by ''The Ring''. Angela Whyte
Angela Whyte (born 22 May 1980) is a Canadian hurdler in track and field athletic competition. She is a three-time Olympian (2004, 2008, and 2016) in the 100m hurdles at the Summer Olympics. She has won multiple medals at both the Pan American Games and the Commonwealth Games in the 100 metres hurdles. She was a four-time All-American and a five-time Big West Conference champion in two years of competition at the University of Idaho and holds school records in the sprints, hurdles, jumps, multi-events and relays at both Idaho and the University of New Mexico. She also holds two Big West records in the 100m hurdles. She is currently an assistant track and field coach at Washington State University. Personal life Whyte was born in Edmonton, Alberta. James Steacy
James Steacy (born 29 May 1984 in Saskatoon, Saskatchewan) is a male hammer thrower from Canada. His personal best of 79.13 metres, achieved in May 2008 in Lethbridge, Alberta, stands as the current Canadian record. He represented Canada at the 2008 and 2012 Summer Olympics. With a top 12 finish at the 2008 Summer Olympics, he became the first Canadian in 84 years to reach the Olympic hammer throw final. Jacques Martin (athlete)
Jacques Martin ( – April 19, 2012) was a paralympic athlete from Canada competing mainly in category F55 throwing events. Biography Martin was from Saint-Denis-de-Brompton, Quebec. Martin competed in every Paralympic Games from 1984 to Athens in 2004. In 1984 he won the shot put for class 4 athletes while also competing in the javelin and discus. He improved on this feat in 1988, defending his gold in the shot and winning a bronze in the discus. Although he did not win a third straight shot put competition in Barcelona in 1992, he still improved, winning the discus for the first time, winning his first medal in javelin, a silver, and finishing in the bronze medal position in the shot put. In the 1996 Summer Paralympics he defended his discus gold medal and again won silver in the javelin. Jennifer Joyce (born September 25, 1980 in Vancouver, British Columbia) is a Canadian hammer thrower. While growing up outside of Vancouver, Joyce excelled in multiple sports as a child. In addition to athletics, she participated in soccer and volleyball, earning a spot on the British Columbia soccer provincial team in 1994. However, her greatest success came in hammer throw, in which she won three national junior titles from 1997 to 1999. As a freshman at the University of California, Berkeley, Joyce continued her success and set a Canadian junior national record of 58.90m. Through the course of her successful career as a Golden Bear, Joyce became a Pac-10 Champion and two NCAA All-American. She also was a four-time qualifier for the NCAA Championships, placing as high as fourth in 2000. Nathan Brannen
Nathan "Nate" Brannen (born 8 September 1982) is a Canadian retired middle-distance runner from Cambridge, Ontario, who competed at three Summer Olympics: 2008, 2012 and 2016. Brannen is a graduate of the University of Michigan. He is affiliated with the Phoenix Athletics Association of Ontario. Brannen currently holds four Canadian track and field records: in the indoor and outdoor 1,000 metres (2:16.86 indoor, 2:16.52 outdoor), 2,000 metres (4:59.56), and the indoor one-mile (3:54.32). Brannen is currently the Cross Country head coach at St. Edward High School in Lakewood, Ohio.
