Can You Duet
''Can You Duet'' is an American reality-competition show on CMT. The show was produced by FremantleMedia, the same company that produces ''American Idol''. The show premiered on April 14, 2008, and the first season ended on June 13, 2008. Sixwire, runners up from Fox's ''Next Great American Band'', performed as the house band for ''Can You Duet'' with Steve Mandile serving as the show's musical director. Two additional musicians, Steve Hornbeak on keyboards and Andrea Young on violin, performed with Sixwire during the show. The show was cancelled after two seasons. Seasons Season One (2008) The show was hosted by Rossi Morreale, and the judge panel was made up of Naomi Judd, Brett Manning, and Aimee Mayo. Rossi Morreale
Rossi Morreale (born April 27, 1977) is a television personality and former college football player. Career Morreale was a starting wide receiver/ punt returner for the University of Arkansas Razorbacks football team, lettering from 1997–1999. After graduation he came out to Hermosa Beach, California on vacation for the summer. In 2001, he appeared on the second season of '' Temptation Island'' as one of the "singles" meant to tempt committed female contestants. Following that, he was offered a job in Marki Costello's casting office, searching for singles to be contestants on reality shows. After multiple reality shows, he became the casting assistant to find the next host of ''Junkyard Wars'' on TLC. Between 2002 and 2005 he began presenting on the U.S. version of ''Junkyard Wars''. "Address in the Stars" is a song written by Caitlin Lynn, Aimee Mayo, Chris Lindsey, Hillary Lindsey and recorded by American country duo Caitlin & Will. The song, their only single, was released in March 2009. It was intended as the lead-off single to their debut album, ''Dark Horse'', which went unreleased. Originally, "Even Now" was to be their first single, however, while on radio tours, radio stations started playing "Address in the Stars", and listeners began to like the song more. Two weeks before "Even Now" was to be released to radio, the single was switched. The song appears on their self-titled EP, which was released on March 31, 2009, via Columbia Records' Nashville division. "Just By Being You (Halo and Wings)" is a song written by Britton Cameron and Canadian country music singer Patricia Conroy, and recorded by American country music duo Steel Magnolia. It was released on July 20, 2010 as the second single from their self-titled debut album, which was released on January 11, 2011. Critical reception Kevin John Coyne, of Country Universe, gave the song a "C" rating, stating that the song could put Matchbox Twenty fans to sleep. He also said that the duo could have come up with something worthy of their time and effort. Music video The song was made into a music video, which premiered on Country Music Television on July 2, 2010. The video was directed by Kristin Barlowe. In the video, the duo perform in the middle of woods, while in the backdrop are two children playing.
