Campo Grande (Lisbon Metro)
Campo Grande is an elevated interchange station on the Yellow and Green Lines of the Lisbon Metro. It has a large bus terminal at ground level and is located on Rua Cipriano Dourado just north of Avenida General Norton de Matos in the Lisbon parish of Alvalade, in the neighbourhood of Campo Grande. Location The station adjoins Estádio José Alvalade home of Sporting Clube de Portugal. Nearby destinations include Pimenta Palace, Rafael Bordalo Pinheiro Museum, Universidade Lusófona and northern access to the Faculty of Sciences, University of Lisbon. History The station opened on 1 April 1993. The architectural design is by Ezequiel Nicolau with murals and art installations by Eduardo Nery. The station is not fully accessible for people with physical disabilities. Metropolitano S.A. was a privately owned consortium formed in 1994 to take over concessions granted by the Argentine government as part of railway privatisation during the presidency of Carlos Menem for the operation of commuter rail services in the Buenos Aires Province. Sporting Clube de Portugal, founded Sporting Club de Portugal (), otherwise referred to as Sporting CP, often known abroad as Sporting Lisbon , is a Portuguese professional sports club based in Lisbon. It is best known for the professional football team playing in the Primeira Liga, the top flight of Portuguese football. Arroios (Lisbon Metro)
Arroios is a station on the Green Line of the Lisbon Metro. The station is located in the Almirante Reis Avenue, in Arroios neighbourhood. History The station, which opened on 18 June 1972, was designed by the architect Denis Gomes with art installations by the painter Maria Keil. On 19 July 2017, the station was closed for extensive renovations; the station's platforms only had room for 4 cars, requiring use of selective door operation. The platforms were expanded from 75 to 105 metres, enabling all stations on the Green Line to be able to support six-car trains. The station reopened on 14 September 2021. Cais do Sodré is a station on the Green Line of the Lisbon Metro. It is located in the Praça Duque da Terceira, connecting to the Cais do Sodré railway station and with a boat station (allowing for quick travel between Lisbon and Cacilhas, Seixal and Montijo. History This metro station was built by Pedro Botelho and Nuno Teotónio Pereira and the art work was done by António Dacosta, which left some of his drawings to be used in the station after his death, with some help from the painter Pedro Morais.
