Campeonato Cearense (lower Levels)
The Campeonato Cearense is the football league of the state of Ceará, Brazil. Format The Campeonato Cearense has three divisions with the following division and format (as in any other Brazilian soccer championship, the format can change every year): First Division The ten clubs play two legs. In each leg there are three stages: *First stage: All teams play each other one time. *Second stage: Two-legged knockout with the top 4 teams of the first stage (1st x 4th and 2nd x 3rd). *Third stage: Two-legged knockout with the second stage winners. The winners of the third stage are leg champions. The two leg champions decide the state championship final in two games. If a team wins the two legs is a state champion with no championship final necessary. The two teams last placed in all championship are relegated. América Football Club (CE)
América Football Club, is an association football club based in Fortaleza, the capital of the north-east Brazilian state of Ceará. The club was founded on November 11, 1920, and plays home games at Estádio Presidente Vargas, which has a maximum capacity of 23,000 people. América's mascot used to be a devil, but it was replaced with an eagle in the early 1990s. The club is primarily of historic importance in its home state. Greatest achievements were the Championships of the State of Ceará of 1935 and 1966. In the years 1933, 1934, 1940, 1943, 1948 and 1954 América was runner up of the competition. 2013 Campeonato Cearense
The 2013 Campeonato Cearense de Futebol was the 99th season of top professional football league in the state of Ceará, Brazil. The competition began on January 5 and ended on May 19. Ceará won the championship for the 42nd time and 3rd since 2011, while São Benedito and Maracanã were relegated. Format The championship has three stages. On the first stage, all teams excluding those who are playing in 2013 Copa do Nordeste play a double round robin. The best six teams qualifies to the second stage. On the second stage, the teams are joined by the clubs from Ceará who were playing on Copa Nordeste. The teams then play a double round robin again, where the best four teams qualifies to the final stage. In the final stage, it's a playoff with four teams. The champion and the best team on first stage qualifies to the 2014 Copa do Brasil. The champion and the runner-up qualify to the 2014 Copa do Nordeste. Guarani Esporte Clube, commonly known as Guarani de Juazeiro, is a Brazilian football club based in Juazeiro do Norte, Ceará state. They won the Copa Integração once and compete in the Série D. History The club was founded on April 10, 1941. Guarani de Juazeiro won the Campeonato Cearense Second Level in 2004, and in 2006. They won the Copa Integração in 2006.
