Campbell Cemetery
Campbell Cemetery is a historic cemetery in rural southwestern Randolph County, Arkansas, southeast of Imboden near the Spring River. It is a small family cemetery, and is notable not only for one of its earliest burials, that of James Campbell (b. 1780), the first judge and county sheriff of Lawrence County, the second county established in what is now the state of Arkansas, and an early settler of Randolph County, but also as the final resting place of country and western music singing star Glen Travis Campbell. Imboden, Arkansas
Imboden is a city in Lawrence County, Arkansas, United States. The population was 677 at the 2010 census. It is named after a family of settlers. History The community was first settled around 1828 and was incorporated in 1887. In 1912, Imboden elected Joe Sullivan as the youngest elected mayor in the United States of that period. He was 21 years old and paralyzed, so relied on a goat-driven cart. He left the town in 1914 to pursue further education. Imboden has two public schools. Sloan-Hendrix School was established in 1899 as Sloan-Hendrix Academy, a private school affiliated with Hendrix College in Conway. It later became a public school. Randolph County, Arkansas
Randolph County is located between the Ozark Mountains and Arkansas Delta in the U.S. state of Arkansas. The county is named for John Randolph, a U.S. senator from Virginia influential in obtaining congressional approval of the Louisiana Purchase, which includes today's Randolph County. Spring River (Arkansas)
The Spring River is a long river which flows through the U.S. states of Missouri and Arkansas. It consists of two branches, the South Fork of the Spring River and the Spring River proper. The South Fork of the Spring River starts in Howell County, Missouri and flows south through Fulton and Sharp counties in Arkansas.
